Anyway, Death Proof is really good, like 8.5, and I'm not some *** praising his work just because it's Quentin, it really is good. Btw, Planet Terror is only co-directed by Tarantino, and he didn't really do that much. |

A very mediocre vampire flick. It was pretty boring and the vamps were totally uninteresting. They could have inserted anything as the enemy of the movie and it would have been the same. | Rabid sled dogs? |

Posts: 2,248 | Yes was one of the best documentaries I have seen. I was a kid when all that was going on so was trip down memory lane as alot of the footage they shown was actual news reports on the national nightly news. And like Kona said Miami's skyline was built with the coke profits, and the documentary explains how it was done.

Posts: 61 | For any Stargate SG1 fans, I purchased the "Ark of Truth" and watched it Thursday. The included "Prelude" is a short recap of seasons 9 and 10 mostly, to refresh your memory. The movie itself has some very good CGI scenes and the acting is pretty well done. The extra money poured into this does show on screen. A few plot twists, but the 2 hour movie plays out better than the hourly TV episodes. They do wrap up most of the plot lines, but even the actors weren't always impressed in how it was done. ( As seen in the standard behind-the-scenes documentary.)
No Blooper Reel though. ( Loved the Blooper reels on FireFly/Serenity. )
7 out 10 overall. A definite nightly rental for casual SG1 fans. |

Of course, when Ben Browder from the series Farscape came to SG1 to replace O'Neil, O'Neil was promoted to General. I didn't watch SG1 as much in the last couple of seasons w/O'Neil, mainly after Ben Browder and Claudia Black came aboard.

Posts: 18 | 10,000 BC is the last film I watched, I rate it 5 out of 10. I actually was very annoyed with this film and here is why.
1) the cavemen did not act like cavemen, they were way too sophisticated.
2) When the story took a turn towards romance, one caveman is deeply in love with some cavewomen who is declared a prophet cause of her magical blue eyes, I knew it was going downhill fast.
3) no original thoughts went into the story.
4) historically completely inaccurate. I want to expand on this point cause it was an important factor. I wanted to watch this flick cause I thought it was going to be a historical fiction (kinda like Braveheart but for cavemen). However, this had no historical accuracy to it at all...Egyptians, Cavemen, Jungle tribes all living together within short walking distance.
5) The CGI (computer generated imagery) was not very good. There is a Woolly Mammoth, a killer Ostridge which they only give you a glimpse of, and a really fake looking Saber Tooth Tiger. This dancing Elephant is better
writing this mini review makes me realize how much I really hated this movie. Luckily I got in with a free movie pass, but I will never get those 2 hours of my life back |

And Ive heard nothing but bad stuff about 10,000BC, so I wont be seeing it. And i wasn't going to, I saw day after tomorrow so that says it all.
That and the fact cavemen speak perfect english, and have access to a gym and make up/hair saloon in the back of their caves. | |

Luckily I got in with a free movie pass, but I will never get those 2 hours of my life back | hehe, if you want a 'historically accurate' caveman movie, watch quest for fire. that should do it for you. maybe these weren't cavemen, but Atlantians?
i wouldn't watch a movie for accuracy when it is coming from the same guys who made independence day, day after tomorrow, and godzilla (funny how people miss that one).
your expectations going into a movie will help mold your disappointment or approval of a movie. sounds like you went in with high hopes, therefore the movie bombed all the more. personally, i would go to see this movie to see som special effects and that is about it. |
