your expectations going into a movie will help mold your disappointment or approval of a movie. sounds like you went in with high hopes, therefore the movie bombed all the more. personally, i would go to see this movie to see som special effects and that is about it. | I didn't realize that the creators of this film also produced those other films you listed, that explains a lot. It is quite true that your expectations going into a movie effect how it is perceived. Star Wars Episode I provides a perfect example of how many people went in with very high expectations and were brutally disappointed. However, I did not go into this flick with the highest expectations, the previews were just so vague I could not get an idea of it. If anything I just expected a movie with a lot of impressive effects and little substance. This film is not very good in the effects department as well.
I have heard of Quest For Fire but I have never seen it. Maybe I'll check it out sometime if I feel like a caveman flick. Thanks for the Comment. |

Posts: 18 | I recently watched Blade Runner again and this movie always entertains me. I give it a 8.5/10. For those who are not familiar with this movie it is a Ridley Scott science fiction film starring Harrison Ford. It is set on Earth in the future where androids/ "replicants" are being made to serve humans (not like I Robot). Four of them go off the grid and start killing people. Harrison Ford is brought in to track down and kill them. This is a challenging task because the replicants are designed to closely resemble humans in all aspects. This is a VERY basic description of the plot, a lot of thought went into this film.
STOP READING IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE FILM AND WANT TO.
For those who have seen this movie I was wondering if anyone has thoughts on the theory that Harrison Ford's character was actually a replicant himself. What clues in the movie led to that hypothesis?

Posts: 440 | No Country For Old Men - 9/10 Great movie with a lot of action without over-doing it, along with great acting and dialog.
Into The Wild - 9/10 too At first I didn't expect much, but it was a great and moving flick. Directed by Sean Penn
Trainspotting - 9.5/10 Finally caught this one. Not much to say that hasn't already been said. |

Anyway, watched Bee Movie recently. Pretty disappointing. Started out ok, there was several funny parts, but when it got to the part where he *spoiler if you are gonna watch this* sued humans over honey, it was just flopped there. so had some promise, but it was just disjointed. and 2 hours of that guy's voice was to much too.

No Country For Old Men 9/10, can't really say it better than 7th did so i quoted him. The only thing i'd add is that the end is really disappointing. That's the only thing keeping it from being a 10/10 in my book. Why can't anyone end movies well anymore?
also, has anyone seen There Will Be Blood? i'd like to know if its worth renting and i don't feel like looking back through this thread to see if anyone has reviewed it.
