Jonh of ark.
I owned it for a while but That's ok cause it IS the last movie I watched.
9 out of 10
9 cause I didn't relize how much killing was in it. o-o
I like killing in video games but when I see it in real life it's alot. o.o
But then again that was the 3 time I watched it.
I only watched it 4 times. o-o
Yup <3
great brazillian film, it's in portugese but has english subs, it's by the guys that did cidade de deus (city of god) but imo tropa de elite is a little better than city of god. city of god is still amazing though and i'd highly recommend both
i actually found out about this movie because somebody rated it in this thread about 20 pages back lol, i'm glad i saw that post because i downloaded it and have seen it about 5 times since lol

You should also check out Battle of Algiers, Wages of War, and Seven Samuri. All old black and white films and all are great; and it should go without saying Schindler's List. Anyway:
Killshot: 8.5/10 Mickey Rourke gives a great performance as a hitman while Joseph Gordon Levit is outstanding as his not so bright psychotic new pal. Saw a trailer for this years ago and it finally came out. I have been waiting so long and was surprisingly not disappointed.
L.A. Confidential: 9.25/10 A great mystery crime thriller with plenty of twists. great performances all around from the likes of Russell Crowe, Guy Pierce, Kevin Spacey, Danny Devito and James Cromwell. A must see for crime, thriller, and mystery fans alike.
Black Dahlia: 6/10 A promising film that ultimately lacks the focus and tightly sewn together plot needed to pull it off. Jumps around way too much and has too many scenes that seem pointless. By the end you find yourself not caring. Average performances all around with the exception of Aaron Eckhert who does give a great performance as he begins to be eaten alive by the case. Unfortunately he receives way too little screen time, and Josh Hartnett just falls flat in comparison.
Watchmen 9 of 10 - I thought this comic was un-filmable, but I was proven wrong. It really brought the comic to life and was very true to the original story, no sacrifices or horrible directorial choices there.
frost you give like every movie 100%, how many perfect movies are out there??
I watch a lot of movies I only rate the ones I liked
recently I watched taken and confessions of a shopaholic I give them respectively 2.5/5 taken and 2/5 for shopaholic.
taken was mundane I think I saw something similar back in the 80's that was done a lot better it was about white slavery and had Charles Bronson can't remember the name of it now tho.
I also saw Stagecoach this morning 3.5/5 could have used a lot more action and a better written script but it had one hell of a cast. Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Mary Francis Crosby.
anyways good movie but it was a remake of a 1939 b&w was a nickel fiction made into a screen play in the 30's wish they played that one ya know?
Next set I am watching is star trek enterprise season 1 can't really rate that till the last disc it is like a over all thing so I am getting discs in between and whatever comes on tv.
but no I usually just don't rate the more sucky movie I watch as a courtesy

did you actually see it? it looks kinda dumb. ok, i mean real dumb. baron-ass looks good, and looks like the actual baroness.
started watching against the dark. steven seagull. but not really him, he's a support actor at the most. he walks around and kills vampire things, that aren't vampires, they are more like zombies from 28 days later with a blood lust and want to eat people. anyway, about this group in the hospital trying to do...something. and steven seagull and his buds walk around and kill the infected.
cd froze up cause it was most dirty. i didn't clean it, i just ook it out.
4/10

I just saw one of the matrix movies this morning. I kinda forgot how bad they actually were. I have to give it a 2.5/5 the story is really not there I was trying hard to get into it. take the blue pill or the red one. and then I realized it was not at all that deep.
it was not a who made the maker type movie it was a piece of tripe and Keanu Reeve's has got 3 lines that sound like he tried and the rest sound like he was trying to be some other actor in another movie. as soon as he gets sucked into the matrix he changes his whole speech pattern . why? because he knows he was a program before? the 2 brothers that made this trilogy were either on drugs or stole it from a group of druggie friends. but I am being a little harsh maybe. the cartoon version was ok. partly due to a lack of over acting.

Real dumb? It looks like a steaming pile of cheesy crap relying solely on special affects. The only minimal interest I have in the movie stems from the fact that the talented Joseph Gordon Levitt is in the film. All of the other performances look horrid.
The Backwoods - 6
Only because Gary Oldman was in it.
Gran Torino - 9.5
Just as good the second time, a wonderful movie.
