Posts: 522 | Top 5 guitarists 1. Marty Friedman
especially his solos on rust in peace are amazing and also the project he did with Jason becker called cacophony(check out symphony of destruction and speed metal symphony)
2. Randy Rhoads
What can i say Crazy train, Mr Crowley, Children of the grave...Ozzy owes alot to this guy
3. Roope Latvala
The lead guitarist in a finnish speed metal band called Stone(currently backing up alexi laiho in bodom) innovative and trendsetting for many finnish metal bands today
4. Paul Gilbert
Probably the most technically talented of the group, this guy can play almost as fast as Malmsteen (who you will no find on this lst because he's just ****ing sad) the electric drill song is a funny piece
5. Gary Moore
One of the only non metal guitarists i find truly great, just listen to the sound of his guitar on the song Still got the blues for you |

Posts: 522 | yeah i was thinking about van halen and hendrix but at the end of the day they haven't really influenced my guitar playing or are promenent in my selection of mp3's. Halen stuff is too light and cheery for my taste and as for jimi, well i do like his songs but none of em really struk me in a omg way. I know i should probably put it in the perspective that both of these guys were pioneers and innovators but i like the more aggressive stuff. |

Posts: 5,150 | slap bass takes more skill and it sounds better. but next to guitar, bass sucks anyway
i think you use the joint/knuckle of your thumb to slap it, by flicking it into the string, thats how i do it anyway
