| | | Yes congratulations you've just lost the whole idea of gaming. Play games that are fun! If you play for those STUPID points then I pity and laugh at you. | |

Posts: 856 | Just play tons and tons of games and spend tons of hours every day. Take it from me Also you got to have some skill to get some of the achievements. And if you are extremely desperate. Play a sports game. They are easy points or so I've heard. I don't have a single achievement point in a sports game out of all my points. |

Posts: 2,812 | Yes, take it from RPG. Someone who spends 500 hours on Chromehounds will surely have the answers you seek pertaining to achievement whoring! |

Posts: 856 | How is that achievement whoring? Do you even see how many points I have in that game? Why would I spend 500 hours on that game to get 600 and some points when I could spend 500 hours over multiple easy games and get over 10-20k points? |

Posts: 244 | I whored when I first got my 360 (Avatar, king kong, Tomb Raider, and THAW) , got to about 8k or so but now I just play games I like. For the Record, Tomb Raider and king kong were both good games imo. I do enjoy unlocking them though as long as they don't really take any extra time on my part. I just look at them before I play and try to get them on the playthrough. Like the Darkness, I'd probably never use those darkness guns but im not one to completely ignore achievements, I'll just bend my gameplay to make it work. Now I don't really like whores all too much but what I hate more is people who are anti- achievement and go out of their way to not get it(not mentioning any names). But yea, Avatar is 1k points in about 90 seconds.

Posts: 1 | As with most things it's about balance Achievement chasing does take the fun out of a game. I'm not really enthused about going back and playing through Gears of War a fourth time to find two remaining COG tags for 30 points. (And I'm definitely not going to play a stupid game just for gamerscore.) GOW was an awesome game, but I'm not ready to play it through again just yet (except maybe on coop) and running around a level looking for cog tags isn't that fun.
However, I am pretty proud of having beat General Raam on Insane and having the achievement listed for all to see.
I don't think achievement chasing is as bad though as gamesaving, it just indicates someone has different priorities versus someone who thinks it's ok to cheat.
I've been hearing about this 90 second 1,000 point game. I have to say, what's the point? I'd like to see some more control by Microsoft on how difficult points are to get. |
