How can Microsoft not create a Blu Ray player for 360?

I know they are all about HD but shouln't they keep this safe and have an option for both? I think it's the best thing if the consumer has the option. What do you guys think?

Before Peter Moore left he did not say MS would never support BD. Being that 360 games are DVD9 and not BD or HD DVD, there is no current need although it will become a more pressing issue in the future. Believe it or not, Sony and MS have worked together in the past and any company willing to manufacture BD units are allowed as long as Sony receives their royalty check.

the blu ray was out after the time xbox 360 came out(or abouts).
that is why.
oh and also, sony are the ones that produce blu ray disks.

yah well past is past it's time now to just keep up. It is a very real fact that they may have made the wrong decision and will now have to rectify the situation by swallowing thier pride. Man up.

No, they produced the technology to develop BD discs ... Anyone can now manufacture them but as I said, they must pay royalties. Also, I don't think MS really gives a **** who wins their focus is on Digital Distribution.
