They weren't better than the Pats the first time, Dallas twice, Green Bay, Minnesota or Washington. Hell, 10-6 wasn't even good enough to get in the playoffs for the AFC. They weren't better than everyone, they were just in the right place at the right time.

^^ thats a bit rough isnt it karm ? Granted i don't follow american football at all, but i did watch the superbowl and the giants won a tight game fair and square. Sounds like they won the games that mattered. Patriots had a great year (again i dont follow it much, but didnt they cheat at the start of the season anyway?) but if you can't show up for the game that matters the most, then you still don't deserve to win.

I enjoyed the game, and had no team preference so was kinda glad the underdogs took it.

I don't think its harsh, but the truth hurts I guess. I wanted to see the Giants win, no doubt, but to say they are better than everyone else is delusional. They are not even the best team in their division IMO.

I'll root against Belichump every day of the week, but Giants are the best team in the NFL? Come on!

Who won the superbowl. None of the teams you mentioned.

It doesn't mean they are the best team in the NFL. Right place, right time.

Wii outsells every console, so I guess that means its the best. Get rid of your 360 and PS3 and get with the best console known to man.

How can you not be the best team in the NFL when you just won the Super Bowl.

Considering the Pats won every other game they shoulda won superbowl, and the giants are retarded new yorkers. also the pats are the only team I know anything about, and I didnt watch the superbowl as it took me an hour to see 12mins of play. thats just so *** i cant describe it, its a bit like when don and alex use them 19'' pink dildos without the lube, and then watch will and grace after. you know what i mean..

Is that all you can say? You made the thread!

The Giants weren't even the best team on the field that day, let alone the best in the NFL. They found a way to beat a superior team. That makes them champions, not the best team. If the Giants are the best team, why didn't they win their division?

By your argument, 1992 AL Rookie of the Year winner Pat Listach is a better player than the guy he beat out...some guy named Manny Ramierez.

By your arguement, Feb 1990 Buster Douglas won the Heavyweight belt from Mike Tyson. Obviously Douglas was a superior fighter, and it had nothing to do with the fact Tyson was unprepared.

RIGHT PLACE, RIGHT TIME

Giants were the best team that day. They outplayed the patriots. By what your saying the red sox are not the best team in baseball, even though there world series champions.

That's not even close to what I'm saying LOL. WTF?

The Red Sox tied for the best record in baseball during the regular season, have arguably the best 1 through 9 lineup, and back up a stellar rotation with a solid bullpen. The Sox destroyed teams in the toughest division in baseball and clobbered teams through the final out of the Series. That's 180 degrees from what I'm saying about the Giants LOL.

The team I wanted to win won, but the Giants aren't even the best team in their division. Undeniable, quantitative FACT!

Let me put it to you another way...if your team is getting 14 points from the Las Vegas books, if your team is described as an "overwhelming underdog" in the 2 weeks leading up to the game, if your team's victory is described as "the most stunning upset in Super Bowl history", you're not the better team. Play that game 10 times and the Pats will win 9 of them.

Whatever. I don't care much about the NFL, I just want to see Belichump lose every week. Hell, I almost didn't watch the game. The Giants beat a much better team, and deserve the "Champion" label, but not "best".

I agree it may have been the "Right Place, Right Time" but NY did what no other NFL team could. Pittsburgh, Indy, Dallas nor San Diego could defeat the Pats but the New York Football Giants did exactly that. Not only did they win, they held the NFL's most prolific scoring team EVER to 17 points and managed to make Brady look like a ****ing rookie out there. He was pressured, knocked down & sacked more times in that game than probably any other singular game in his career. The Giants did one hell of a job on the defensive side and it's the D that usually wins the ball games. My hats off to them for providing us with the highest rated Superbowl EVER (98 million I think) and getting Belicheat all hot and bothered. If they are not the best team in the NFL, March Madness, the BCS Bowl system, The World Series, The NBA Championship, **** even the PBA system never provides a "best team" outcome. Lastly, you say they aren't even the best team in their division yet you forget the were plagued with injuries (Strahan-Jacobs-Shocky-etc) the entire year. We can Monday Quarterback all day but if they had a healthy roster the entire year who knows how much better (record wise) they could have been.
