Default Top 5 Greatest Guitar solos

Top 5 Greatest Guitar solos

Everyone loves a good rock guitar solo. Unless you like that RnB crap that is...

Mine:

1. Pink Floyd - Comfortbly Numb (The 2nd solo)
2. Pink Floyd - Time
3. Bon Jovi - Wanted dead or alive (I HATE Bon Jovi but you cannot take anything away from Richie Sambora.)
4. Gary Moore - Still got the blues
5. Dragonforce - Operation ground and pound (Both solos)

Um, no Van Halen? Are you communist? I'd have to say Eruption is a top 3 candidate. It's extremely difficult to play & Eddie very rarely plays it live because his fingers cramp. Here is one of his live performances of Eruption.

YouTube - Eddie Van Halen- Eruption (Live 1998) Toronto

My personal top 5 would be:
1. David Gilmour - Comfortably Numb
2. Jimi Hendrix - All Along the Watchtower
3. Kirk Hammet - One
4. Eddie Van Halen - Eruption (Not a big Van Halen fan but the solo is amazing)
5. Jimmy Page - Stairway to Heaven

Well, I could have put up a list of thousands of guitar solos I like. But seen as I started it in the Top 5 forum, I had to keep it to the same amount of IQ points you have - which is 5.

Oh and sorry for leaving Eddie out, I do like eruption but it doesn't quite make my own top 5.

Notice it's Top 5, not list every single good solo.

EDIT: It appears that Charles has beaten me to it.

Being that my Wife is Latino I gotta rep' some Carlos Santana ... Black Magic Woman ~ Oye Como Va ~ Samba Pa' Ti & Maria Maria. Dude makes some ruthless **** and can handle a git fiddle like nobody's business! He's like the Mexican Bob Marley for salsa & samba.

But here goes, and either i like them, or are the only ones i can think of at the moment:

1. Unforgiven-Metallica
2. Bleeding Me-Metallica (yeah, so i like metallica, wanna make something of it?)
3. Fiddler on the Green-Demons & Wizards
4. Hunting Girl- Jethro Tull (from the songs in the wood album...i like this one)
5. Ain't Talkin' bout love- Van Halen (what about Beat it?)

"Transdermal Celebration" - Dean Ween - Ween
"Sweet Child O' Mine" - Slash
"Another Brickin the Wall Part 2" - DG

Do these two count, since the entire songs are guitar solos?
"Maggot Brain" (live from One Nation Under a Groove) - Eddie Hazel - Funkadelic
"Little Wing" - Stevie Ray Vaughan
