I was reading about how common medical mistakes are and was thinking we might be able to laugh at each others misfortune by sharing out own stories of things that have happened to us personally or people we know.

#1, Happened about 5 years ago, My wife came down with the Flu and then 2 of our kids did and next I felt it coming on so I went to the doctor and he prescribed TAMIFLU which Shortens your Flu suffering days by 40% and weakens the symptoms by alot.
The major and common side effect is that you develop SEVERE bronchitis which require you to take Heavy doses of Anti-biotics for 2 weeks all the while you're caughing so much that your throat become hamburger and you just lay around crying, shivering, and coughing up blood for 2 weeks. This was the worst 2 weeks of my life.

#2. My Sister was really sick with Chrones Disease for many years before passing away a few years back. She noticed that one of her regular pills looked different but she assumed they had just changed the look of the pill, after having a bad reaction for several days she checked the pills more closely and did an internet search for the little id# thats on the pills and found out that it was actually a drug that she is highly allergic to and that the pharmacy has on her file as Allergic and to not give it to her.
When she contacted the pharmacy they were like... Oh yeah we found out a couple days ago that we must have mixed up 2 sets of pills. They just played it cool like its no big deal..... Also they didn't even bother to call EVERYONE who may have gotten the wrong meds to fix the problem... they just chilled trying to let it blow over not even caring that someone could have died because of the wrong meds.
