Nice! I will admit this season of TUF looks so much more awesome then the past 5, easy. I can't wait till it debuts on TV.. That won't be till September though. So it's still a long wait.

Default UFC 99: The Comeback! Fight Card and Predictions.

UFC 99 looks like an awesome card all together. I can't wait for it. It will air this Saturday June 13, 2009 at 7PM. These 5 fights are the ones that are going to be on the Main Card.

Mirko Crop Cop vs. Mostapha Al Turk
This is going to be CroCop's first fight in the UFC since his last stint. I want him to do well, since I was a huge PrideFC fan. Turk was G&P'd by Kongo in his last fight. I don't think CroCop will take him down, if it stays standing, CroCop wins by KO. If Turk takes CroCop down; I think he'll be able to grind out a victory. I'll say CroCop will win this.

Marcus Davis vs. Dan Hardy
I don't like Marcus Davis at all, but he is a good fighter. Dan Hardy is a brit that has succeeded in pissing Davis off, a very smart maneuver in my opinion. It's smart for 2 reasons, now people that may not know who Hardy is, now does; And secondly he's managed to get under the skin of his opponent, which could throw Davis off his game plan. I'm going to give it to the underdog: Dan Hardy. I think he'll be able to capitalize on mistakes made by Davis and pull a W.

Mike Swick vs. Ben Saunders
This one has the making to be a slug fest, although I feel that Swick will take it to the ground and win via TKO.

Cheick Kongo vs. Cain Velasquez
This one will be an interesting one for sure. Kongo is a beast, but he's a boring fighter and I don't like him too much. I also don't think he's very skilled, he hopes to win most fights via ground and pound. I think Cain is an awesome match for him. He'll be able to stop takedowns, given his wrestling background. And I think Cain will be able to TKO, if not KO Kongo. Cain Velasquez will win this and remain undefeated.

Rich "Ace" Franklin vs. "The Axe Murderer" Wanderlei Silva
A very big fight that I have been wanting to see for a long time. Rich Franklin has received training from former training partner of Wanderlei, Anderson Silva. Anderson has taken Wanderlei's move to 185 a threat and wants Franklin to stop it before it starts. ***** move. Like I'm going to go against a former chute boxe fighter? I say Wanderlei Silva wins by Brutal KO. Rich might pull it off though, to my dismay. He's a phenomenal fighter, and has received training from a former training partner and one of the top 3 P4P fighters in the world. This will be a great fight nonetheless.

What do you guys think of this card? What are your predictions!?
I'm surprised Caol Uno's match against Spencer Fisher won't be broadcasted, it was going to be before, until CroCop joined this Card. I hope there's enough time to show it.

This last season has been interesting for me because of the whole United States vs. United Kingdom, I think that's what ultimately drew me in. I probably would have even watched because of Henderson, I probably would not have cared as much if it was Rich Franklin. Plus I hate Bisping.

I missed this last episode(yesterday) but I downloaded it last night and I will watch it soon.

Default TUF 9.. Anyone else watch?

Damn it, Team UK has an All UK final in the Lightweight division. Andrei Winner(UK) defeated Cameron Dollar(US) and Ross Pearson(UK) defeated Jason Dent(US) to secure their spots in the Lightweight Final.

I really wanted to see Dollar in the Finals against Dent or Pearson, but oh well. Looks like that didn't Happen.

The Lightweight final will be:

Ross Pearson vs. Andre Winner

As for the Welterweight bracket, we have only one American that has guaranteed his spot in the Finals and that is DaMarques Johnson.(pictured below)

He will face the winner of Frank Lester vs. James Wilks which will air on TV next Wednesday. Lester is the only person in the history of The Ultimate Fighter to have been given a second chance and WIN. Coincidentally he will face the man that beat him and knocked his teeth out, UK's James Wilks. If Lester could pull it off, it would be amazing. But I think Wilks has his number. We'll see for sure this next Wednesday in the final episode of TUF Season 9.

James Wilks vs. Frank Lester

What do you guys think? Any predictions for this semi final match or the finals?

didn't CB Dollaway get a second chance on TUF and lost both times to Amir Sadollah?

I don't know if he was given 2 chances, I don't think Dana would let that happen. But he did lose twice against Amir, and the UFC even picked him up for a couple card afterwards. They should have gotten Jesse Taylor and fought him against Dollaway/Amir, who cares if he got **** faced beyond belief, he was celebrating.

Default Post UFC 99

Cain Valesquez performed well and dominated Cheick Kongo. He's proved that he has a solid chin, he got rocked twice in the opening of the first and second rounds, his knees buckled and he fell to the ground, then recovered each time scoring takedowns and poured on pure aggression to the end of the round. I want to see him fight Shane Carwin sometime soon.

Nice performance by Swick, TKOing Ben Saunder.. I want for Swick exactly what he is asking for. I want him to move up to bigger name guys and try his luck there. This kid needs to be tested.

Crocop, LOL. He viciously eyepokes Al Turk, then pounds away at him while he's holding his eye for a TKO victory. Iole, Yahoo Sports Writer has rumered that CroCop has signed a 3 fight deal with DREAM, after this 1 fight contract with the UFC expired. B!tch move. He said he will die trying to get the UFC Heavyweight title. Supposedly Dane White has been quoted saying that he was suppose to sign another fight contract with the UFC after his win. Dana says he got f*cked if this rumer is true.

The Brit Dan "The Outlaw" Hardy beat Marcus Davis in a split decision victory, Leaving Davis even more outraged. I don't think Davis did enough to win the fight. It was a good call, Davis needs to get over it.

So far I'm 4/4 with my predictions!!!

This is where it get's dumb.
Wanderlei lost to Rich Franklin via unanimous decision. I had Wanderlei winning two rounds. They screwed Wanderlei like they screwed Rich last time they were out in Ireland. It seems like they're trying to make a right by 2 wrongs.

-------------------My Interpretation on what Happened--------------------
The match is scored off of effective Striking, Grappling, Aggression, and Octagon Control.

Octagon Control was not an issue as none of the fighters got taken down and held down, or where pressured against the fence.

Aggression goes to Wanderlei, hands down. He was constantly stalking Rich, as is the way Wanderlei does it in all his fights.

Now Striking, it was close, but never was Wanderlei even hurt once. and Wanderlei landed solid shots that did a lot more damage than Rich's IMO

And Finally Grappling. Both fighters scored 1 takedown in the fight, but there was no significant amount of damage that would land anyone of these fighters this category based on these takedowns. Wanderlei did land a clean knee from a thai clinch though, which I believe should have gotten him this.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

The only round I saw Franklin win was the first. Wanderlei is pleading with Dana for a rematch so he can beat Franklin. I don't think this is a good move, he showed us what we are to expect, and even if he did get screwed, he needs to move on and look ahead at the 185lbs middleweight division. I see him fighting Drew Mcfedries soon.

Anyone else watch it? What do you guys think?

I didn't watch, but I did follow it up online.

Majority of sites I read the results on gave the match to Franklin. I figured Franklin would win, but Wanderlei needs to face someone such as Chris Leben, Nate Quarry or Drew McFedries.

A lot of people are criticizing Cain for lack of sub skills and not being able to finish Kongo the multiple times he took him to the ground.

Cain still needs a lot of improvement and should fight Heath Herring next, like he was supposed to in the first place.

I would give hardy the match upon reading the p-b-p results too.

Cro Cop thing is a rumor right now as Mirko came out and said nothing is set in stone and that he never talked to Dana after the match like Dana has stated.

Swick either needs to face the loser of Alves/GSP or face Paulo Thiago if he beats Jon Fitch.

Also, Tim "Poopy Pants" Sylvia lost to Ron Mercer in 9 seconds... wow!

I thought Cain showed a terrible chin. He really could have lost that fight If Kongo would have kept distance. Kongo had a great oppurtunity but then tried to clinch with Cain allowing him the easy takedown. I think Kongo would have KO'd him with a few more punches.

I also thought Wandy won while watching the fight. Fightmetrics scored it for Franklin so looks like I was wrong. I haven't enjoyed Rich's last two fights for sure. It's like watching a kickboxing match with no power shots.

Yeah Cain has great recovery, and c'mon most people would all be KO'd after those 2 power shots Kongo threw at Cain. Kongo is a big f'n dude, and has the majority of his strength in his upper body.

And yeah as for the Wandy/Franklin fight; You have to score it round by round, not the whole fight in it's entirety. And you have to give into the out of date 10 point must system based on effective striking, grappling, aggression and octagon control. If you do it that way, Wandy wins the fight.

Octagon Control, no one gets a point for that because no one used it.

Aggression, Wandy gets this in all 3 rounds, so 1-0 all 3 rounds, Wandy.

Striking, Rich gets the first round. Wandy gets 2nd and 3rd based on effective striking. He may not have thrown as much as Rich, but the ones that landed hurt him more than all of Rich's Combined in that round. The 3rd could have been giving to franklin, so I'll rank that one even, both of them get a point in the third for this.

So that's 1-1(round 1) 2-0(Silva, Round 2) 2-1(Silva, Round 3)

Then there's grappling, none of them did anything significant with it. Wandy took Rich down in the first and Franklin took Wandy down in the third.. But the only other grappling aspect that happened in this fight was the Knee from the Thai Clinch by Silva in round 3. so that would be enough for me to score grappling even in round 3, both get a point.

1-2(Franklin, round 1) 2-1(Silva, Round 2) 3-2(Silva, Round 3)

My score card says 29-28 Wanderlei Silva. And that's based on the UFC's scoring system, and not scoring the fight in its entirety, rather scoring it round by round.

It, at the very least, should not have been a unanimous decision.

EDIT:

Oh yeah and about Franklin being "slow" these last 2 fights, it's because he's fighting the smart fight. He went up against 2 people that have been known to have 1 hit KO power(Wandy and Hendo) He isn't going to risk being on the short side of a highlight reel KO by these guys, he's smarter than that.
Smarter, yes; More boring, definitely.

Bobby Lashley has undeniably been looking good so far in his MMA career. Though I bet he could have had a run like Lesnar if he wanted, ala being thrown to the top MMA Heavyweights an origination can offer, I respect that he did it his own way. That being said I also respect Lesnar for taking it to top tier opponents. He has only 1 loss, which in my opinion, SHOULD NOT be on his record. He won that first fight with Mir, but lost due to bad officiating which gave Mir a second opportunity.

I hear If Bobby Lashley pulls a couple more wins, he'll be fighting Fedor pretty soon. Which would be the biggest test of all. And I believe no matter what Fedor>Lashley and for that matter Fedor>Brock Lesnar.

I know I haven't updated this in a while. Thanks for bringing it back to my attention. I'm going to update this soon.. Before UFC 100, and give my predictions and what not about it. If not tonight, then Sunday, because Saturday I think I'm going to be sofa king drunk

here are my predictions for UFC 100:

Heavyweight Title: Lesnar by 2nd Round TKO (if it goes to decision, then Mir has it)
Welterweight Title: GSP by domination (or Alves by fluke 1st round KO ala Serra)
Bisping over Henderson via split decision
Fitch over Thiago by anything he wants
Akiyama over Belcher by decision
Coleman over Bonnar via split decision (or so I hope, I want Coleman to retire a winner lol)
Jon Jones over Jake O'Brien via 2nd round TKO
Dong-Hyun Kim over T.J. Grant via UD
Jim Miller over Mac Danzig via UD
C.B. Dollaway over Tom Lawlor via 3rd Round KO
Matt Grice over Shannon Gugerty via 2nd Round Sub

Lesnar goes on to face the winner of Carwin/Velasquez.
GSP goes on to face the winner of Kampmann/Swick or Thiago if he wins impressively over Fitch. If Frank Trigg beats Koscheck impressively, then maybe he can be set up to face GSP in 2010.
Bisping faces Anderson Silva at the end of the year for the MW title.
Fitch should face Dong-Hyun Kim
Akiyama moves on to face winner of Kendall Grove / Ricardo Almeida
Coleman should go on to face Chuck Liddell in his last match for the UFC to end his career.
Jon Jones moves on to face the winner of Matt Hamill / Brandon Vera or Thiago Silva / Keith Jardine

Adrenaline MMA III had Ray Mercer vs. Tim Sylvia for it's main event.

Ray Mercer vs. Tim Sylvia

Mercer and Sylvia where suppose to have a boxing match at this event, but it got changed to an MMA match at the last minute due to poor sanctioning skills on the execs that run Adrenaline MMA.
For those of you who don't know Mercer, he's a well decorated boxing Heavyweight who has retired. His accomplishments include a gold medal at the Olympics and former WBO Heavyweight Champion. Tim Sylvia is someone who any MMA junkie would know.. Former UFC Heavyweight champion. They collided in the ring and Mercer knocked his block off.. In just 9 seconds. Here's the youtube link, everyone should watch this, it's only 12 seconds long:
YouTube - Ray Mercer vs. Tim Sylvia Bragging Rights in Birmingham Al

Because of this loss, Tim Sylvia was kicked off the Affliction Trilogy show and now probably won't be fighting in any major organization in MMA for a long while, possibly forever. It was a dumb mistake on Sylvia's part. He should have not taken this match and taken the pay day Affliction would have given him.

Up next is the Ultimate Chaos show which featured Bobby Lashley Taking on Bob "The Beast" Sapp.

Bob Sapp vs. Bobby Lashley

Most of you guys will know Sapp from his stint in oversea organizations including: PRIDEfc, K-1, Dream and our local Strikeforce. Bob is just a big mother f'er, Just like Lashley. This fight was to solidify that Lashley wasn't just some overgrown Heavyweight dominating the smaller guys in the division(Like what Sapp is), but to show that he has some skill to accompany his huge frame. In this Bohemoth vs. Colossus match up; Lashley weighed 255lbs and Sapp came in at 322lbs. The fight ended in the first round with Lashley showing, a good takedown and good ground and pound. here's a linky if anyone wants to watch it. It's only like a couple minutes long:
YouTube - Fight Video: Bobby Lashley (4th Fight) vs Bob Sapp -Ultimate Chaos-

There are rumors circulating around that if Lashley wins a couple more MMA fights, Affliction will more thank likely pick him up if the UFC doesn't. The UFC is Beefing up their Heavyweight division, and it looks good so far. If Affliction picks up Lashley by it's forth show I bet if Lashley wins impressively there; He will get a shot at the WAMMA World Heavyweight Champion, Fedor Emelianenko. Which would be his toughest challenge to date.. ANY Heavyweights toughest Challenge to date is fighting the P4P King of the Heavyweight division.

EDIT:

I will do a recap on the fight card for UFC 100 with pretty pictures and all that jazz. Please put down any predictions or fight analysis' you guys may have, I would love to read some.(thanks caspel for yours!) I will be putting this up probably tomorrow morning, before I get all sh!t faced. And my predictions and stuff the following day.

EVERYONE HAVE A FUN AND SAFE FOURTH OF JULY! I know I will

Default UFC 100 Fight Card

UFC 100 is just around the corner and I'm here remind you all what the matches are going to be on the card. I will put some of the preliminaries in there too, but just the ones that interest me. I'll start with the prelims first and then work my way up to the main event.

First Prelim up is:

CB Dolloway vs. Tom Lawler

CB is a Finalist from the last season of the ultimate fighter.. He fought Amir Sadollah twice(semi finals and finals) and lost both times. Tom "The filthy Mauler" Lawlor made his UFC debut last December winning over some no namer.. I would like to see the winner of this match facing better competition, and if they can't hang the UFC needs to release them.

Jon "Bones" Jones vs. Jake O'Brien

Jon Jones is coming off an impressive beatdown of Stephan Bonnar. And Jake O'Brien is a once Heavyweight that was able to cut down to Light Heavyweight after 2 big loses, to Cain Valesquez and Andrei Arlovski. Those losses are nothing to be ashamed of. Jones is coming in with a perfect record(no losses). Here's some random facts about Jon "Bones" Jones; He holds the record in UFC history for the longest reach. His reach is 84.5 inches. Just to give you some idea of how huge that is, Tim Sylvia's reach was 80 and Brock Lesnar's is 81. Crazy, huh?

Dong Hyun Kim vs. TJ Grant

I'm a fan of Kim, and I never really seen this TJ Grant guy fight. This is a step down for Kim IMO, he fought Karo Parisyan last time, and even though he lost in a decision. The decision got overturned because Parisyan was juicing. I want to see kim do good, and then go on to better fights. He is after all bring in an international Korean demographic to the UFC.

Mark Coleman vs. Stephan Bonnar

I'm actually looking forward to this fight, and I'm sad it's not on the main card. Although it will probably end up being a snorfest. Coleman is just a legend in the sport and Bonnar is on a downward spiral.. I don't know how much longer the UFC will hold onto him.. a little bit longer is he beats Coleman I'm guessing.

Yoshihiro Akiyama vs. Alan Belcher

Belcher is riding a 2 fight winning streak, and is 5-3 in the UFC. Akiyama on the other hand is undefeated and is making his UFC debut this Saturday. I admire Akiyama, he has ace Judo prowess and is well decorated in the art of Judo; Having won gold medals and many tourneys. Being a practitioner of Judo myself, I hope Akiyama pulls a "W" here.

Jon Fitch vs. Paulo Thiago

I'm a fan of neither combatants in this match. I believe this should have been swapped for the Coleman/Bonnar match. But It more than likely will not to be a snorfest like the Coleman match will be.

"Dangerous" Dan Henderson vs. Michael "The Count" Bisping

This is a fight I've been waiting too long for. The winner of this match could possibly be next in line for a title shot at Anderson Silva. This match will be an awesome match, I like how it was built up during TUF season 9.. I just can't wait for Dan to shut Bisping down.

UFC Welterweight Championship Match
George "Rush" St. Pierre(c) vs. Thiago "Pitbull" Alves

This match is going to be another awesome one to behold. I don't believe GSP has faced a guy like Alves in a long time. Alves have devastating power in ever strike he throws and it'll be interesting to see what GSP's strategy will be against him, and more importantly if he can impose his strategy on Alves. One thing everyone loves more than seeing someone rise to super stardom like GSP did, is seeing them fall. I want Alves to knock the crap out of GSP.

UFC Undisputed Heavyweight Championship Match

Brock Lesnar(c) vs. Frank Mir(Interim)

I have been waiting a long time for this match up. Ever since it was postponed due to an injury that Frank Mir had. I think Lesnar will come out the Undisputed Heavyweight Champion. I dislike Frank Mir with a passion, and all his band wagon of nut huggers. He got smashed by Brandon Vera not too long ago, how come no one remembers that? He picked up a win from big Nog, in a fight Nog shouldn't have even taken. Nog was released from the hospital 3 days before his match with Mir, but took the fight anyways and made no excuse when he lost. I hear this wild rumor going around that if Lesnar wins Dana White will try to get Fedor to sign a 1 fight deal, so he can fight Brock Lesnar sometime in the near future. Hopefully Brock Pulls the W.

This is the card for UFC 100, it looks pretty damn good if you ask me. It will be live on PPV this Saturday July 11th. Be sure to watch it!

Default My Fight Predictions

I'm just going to bold the name of who I want to win.

The Prelims:
  • Mark Coleman vs. Stephan Bonnar
I think Coleman could possibly grind out a G&P victory on the score cards. or end it in an early TKO.
  • Jon Jones vs. Jake O'Brien
I want Jon Jones to TKO O'Brien in the 1st or 2nd
  • Dong Hyun Kim vs. TJ Grant
    Kim by decision
  • C.B. Dollaway vs. Tom Lawlor
    Dollaway by decision

The Main Card:
  • Jon Fitch vs. Paulo Thiago
I think Paulo Thiago can put Fitch away, I dislike Fitch which is why I'm betting against him. Thiago by 2nd round TKO.
  • Yoshihiro Akiyama vs. Alan Belcher
I see Akiyama by 1st round submission.
  • Dan Henderson vs. Michael Bisping
I want Dan to put a hurting on Bisping. I don't see Dan KOing Bisping, but instead winning by decision.
  • Georges St-Pierre vs. Thiago Alves
I want Thiago to put GSP out early, ala Matt Serra. GSP has proven he can't take a punch and fully recover from it, and if you pressure him then he gives in. Alves will win within the first 3 rounds by TKO victory/GSP tapping due to strikes.
  • Brock Lesnar vs. Frank Mir
I want Lesnar to destroy Mir.. I want him to out box him standing, then getting rabbit punches and hammer fists in on the ground before making them stand up, rinse repeat. Lesnar by Decision, or Mir throwing in the towel in the 4th or 5th round.
