I'm just going to bold the name of who I want to win.
The Prelims:
Mark Coleman vs. Stephan Bonnar
I think Coleman could possibly grind out a G&P victory on the score cards. or end it in an early TKO.
Jon Jones vs. Jake O'Brien
I want Jon Jones to TKO O'Brien in the 1st or 2nd
Dong Hyun Kim vs. TJ Grant
Kim by decision
C.B. Dollaway vs. Tom Lawlor
Dollaway by decision
The Main Card:
Jon Fitch vs. Paulo Thiago
I think Paulo Thiago can put Fitch away, I dislike Fitch which is why I'm betting against him. Thiago by 2nd round TKO.
Yoshihiro Akiyama vs. Alan Belcher
I see Akiyama by 1st round submission.
Dan Henderson vs. Michael Bisping
I want Dan to put a hurting on Bisping. I don't see Dan KOing Bisping, but instead winning by decision.
Georges St-Pierre vs. Thiago Alves
I want Thiago to put GSP out early, ala Matt Serra. GSP has proven he can't take a punch and fully recover from it, and if you pressure him then he gives in. Alves will win within the first 3 rounds by TKO victory/GSP tapping due to strikes.
Brock Lesnar vs. Frank Mir
I want Lesnar to destroy Mir.. I want him to out box him standing, then getting rabbit punches and hammer fists in on the ground before making them stand up, rinse repeat. Lesnar by Decision, or Mir throwing in the towel in the 4th or 5th round.
I will have to disagree with you on the GSP aspect of it. GSP slipped and then got caught Serra was getting dominated in that fight as well, until that point of the push in the back of the head which lead to the slip in the area where the men are cornered and then he got caught. I seen that fight over and over and dissected it.
My predictions are as the follow:
The Prelims:
Mark Coleman vs. Stephan Bonnar
Jon Jones vs. Jake O'Brien
Jon Jones up and coming
Dong Hyun Kim vs. TJ Grant
Kim by decision
C.B. Dollaway vs. Tom Lawlor
Dollaway by Submission
The Main Card:
Jon Fitch vs. Paulo Thiago
Yoshihiro Akiyama vs. Alan Belcher
Dan Henderson vs. Michael Bisping
Georges St-Pierre vs. Thiago Alves
I see this as a good fight, maybe lasting 3 rounds at most Rear naked choke
Brock Lesnar vs. Frank Mir
I see this lasting 1 maybe 2 rounds
I will have to disagree with you on the GSP aspect of it. GSP slipped and then got caught Serra was getting dominated in that fight as well, until that point of the push in the back of the head which lead to the slip in the area where the men are cornered and then he got caught. I seen that fight over and over and dissected it.
I would not say GSP was dominating that fight, it looked rather even to me, except for the fact that GSP didn't look like he was working as hard as Serra was to get shots in because of his 6 inch reach advantage. It seemed to me the "slip" was due to the hard right hook Serra landed to the side of his head. He was dazed from it, and never got a chance to recover, Serra just got on top of him and started slugging him sloppily and GSP gave in because he didn't know what to do. I believe it was because the first strike that was landed on him, he could not just regain his composure, and when he slipped that let Serra know, and he stormed in like a maniac. I haven't seen the fight since, and only recently seen its highlights in replays, maybe I need to watch it again.
GSP is a completely different fight now than he was back then. Even though that's truth, I believe Alves can land a solid shot like Serra did and rattle him in the same fashion. GSP hasn't gotten hit like that ever since Serra did it to him. I think Alves could pull it off.
GSP comes from a smart world class camp though, I wonder what their game plan will be, and if GSP can impose it. After all he hasn't fought a fighter with heavy hands since Serra. Alves is a much dangerous fighter than most all his past battles. Excluding Mayhem and Trigg.
EDIT:
Just thought I should mention that on the Ultimate 100 fights special they're passing on spike TV this week; They listed Matt Serra vs. GSP I as one of the top 100 and they had commentary by GSP and Serra, and GSP said so himself that after the first right hand he was dizzy and could not regain his composure, which caused his legs buckle. So just goes to show you, no matter how many times you hear Mike Goldberg call it a slip, it probably isn't.
I didn't even dissect the fight and knew his legs buckled because of the huge right hand he took to the side of the head just seconds before. And the showed the whole fight, it was like three minutes, and GSP did not look like he was dominating at all, It was fairly even, but you could give it to Serra on the account off his leg kicks he scored. I wouldn't but hey, if Forrest can win a decision like that, anyone might as well be given credit the same way.

Reason: made apparent
My predictions: Mark Colman vs Stephan Bonnar Jon Jones vs Jake O'Brien Dong Hyun Kim vs TJ Grant C.B. Dolloway vs Tom Lawlor
Jon Fitch vs Paulo Thiago (even though I hate Fitch) Yoshihiro Akiyama vs Alan Belcher Dan Henderson vs Michael Bisping (PLEASE shut Bisping the **** up) George St. Pierre vs Thiago Alves
Brock Lesnar vs Frank Mir (not a huge fan of either but I can't stand Lesnar)
The UFC has announced their 2009 inductees to their Hall of Fame, and without further adieu, here they are:
Charles "Mask" Lewis
Mask is one of the Tapout Co-founders, he and his team of rapscallions turned a small business into a huge billion dollar company in just 10 years. These guys lived, breathed and was part of almost everything MMA. Mask died earlier this year in a accident due to a drunk driver. I can see why they chose him, to honor him.
Chuck "The Ice Man" Liddell
This is a big surprise to me. No, I'm not saying Chuck doesn't deserve it, he obviously does. But to put him in front of so many older legends that deserve it more than he does. They could have pulled a few other greats to put in front of him. I think the reason they did it is to pressure Chuck to retire, like Dana is wanting to. Chuck still has 1 fight left on his UFC contract and Dana White won't let him fight, he is instead trying to retire him against his will. Dana has expressed that Chuck will never leave the UFC, and if Chuck doesn't chose to retire all Dana White has to do is not let him fight and he's UFC property for as long as Dana White wants. It sucks, I know.
Well, what do you guys think of these choices for the UFC Hall of Fame?

Blu, why don't you like Lesnar? Is it because he was a former WWE superstar?
That's part of the reason. It's just that Dana brought him in, coddled him, and gave him a shot at the title way before he deserved it. On top of that a lot of people I know hang from his nutsack and treat him like he's some amazing fighter. And it doesn't help that he looks like a big dumb retard haha.

This is a perfect example of power hungry Dana and why I hate him. The way he treats these fighters and runs his mouth is getting ridiculous. As for the actual picks I disagree completely. The Mask is only let in because he died, a clothing creator has no place in the hall of fame despite how synonymous with the sport Tapout has become. Chuck, while undoubtedly deserving in the future, should not be inducted yet. They need a policy similar to other sports that you must be retired a certain length of time before induction so so older more deserving fighters are not loocked past year after year.

Yeah, I could understand how Dana White is a power hungry bastard. The way he treats fighters is crazy. I guess he doesn't want anyone f***ing around when they come to the UFC. I could understand not wanting them to fight in other organizations while they're under contract with the UFC. But to have the power to hold their career in limbo like he is doing Chuck and has done to Randy is complete bollocks.
I also disagreed with the choices man. I could understand why they picked them, but over so many greats they had to chose from? I think a standard should be implemented, like you said. Length of time, votes and other crap should be enforced while making these Hall of Fame choices.
Me and Pepper where talking the other week about the UFC Hall of Fame and he asked me which fighters do I think they're going to chose for the Hall of fame this year and I said: Pat Miletich and Murilo Bustamante; but possibly Bas Rutten, Evan Tanner, Jens Pulver could be chosen over them. Boy, was I way off.
EDIT:
Who would you have chosen for the UFC Hall of Fame inductees this year?
I can't wait to see some PRIDE guys enter the UFC Hall of Fame, but I know that won't be for at least another 5-10 years. And it'll probably only be the PRIDE guys that made a definitive impact in the UFC, like Hendo and Rampage. But I would personally like to see Sakuraba(was UFC Ultimate Japan Heavyweight tourney Champ) Don Frye, Wanderlei, Nogueira bros., Shogun, Ninja, Ricardo Arona, FEDOR. People like them.

Dana White is the sole reason we haven't seen Fedor in the UFC. Fedor refuses to virtually sign himself over to be Dana White property and personally I don't blame him. Which by the way, I am greatly lookin forward to the Fedor Barnett fight in August. As for the hall of fame, I agree with all of who you thought would be inducted this year. I would add to the list Don Frye and, as much as I hate him, Tito although Dana would never let that happen. Tito is in fact the UFC's Pete Rose effectively barring himself for life. I probably would have chosen Don Frye and Pat Miletich myself. And if they were looking to go the route of honoring someone I think it is absolutely ridiculous that "Mask", a clothing creator, is inducted into the hall of fame over Evan Tanner, a FIGHTER and a pretty good one at that. Dan Severn, Mark Coleman, Ken Shamrock, Randy Couture, Royce Gracie, Chuck Liddell, and "Mask" - Which one of these doesn't fit? There are way too many deserving fighters being over looked to start putting people like "Mask" in. Maybe this is just Dana's way of paving the road so he can induct himself next year.

Yeah dude. I would LMAO if Dana White inducts himself into the UFC Hall of Fame man. lol, That should not happen at all, but I feel it might. Him, Lorenzo, and Silva might go in there along side Mask, Sky Scrape and Punk Ass. I can't wait till they induct legitimate fighters in there.. there's always next year right? I hope Tanner and Rutten go in. But I'll be cool with old school greats that still have an impression on the sport like Miletich, and Bustamante, They still have camps and train fighters quality, no?
EDIT:
And yeah I do believe Tito Belongs in the Hall of Fame as well, but I also think he'll never get to be in there, thanks to his beef with Dana White.(good call on the Pete Rose status.. I couldn't have put it better) Same with Frank Shamrock; He's an accomplished fighter, and although I think he never held an actual title belt in the UFC, he was one of their super fight champions.(I just wikipedia'd it, it says he was the first Light Heavyweight Champion for almost 2 years, wow I was wrong.. I thought he never held and actual belt.. I must gotten him and Ken's career in the UFC confused.. oh well, I corrected it now.) But he also has problems with Dana and will never be recognized.

Omg Did Any One See Michael Bisping Get Wrecked!!! Just Now?
HAHA loved it! I've been waiting for that for a LONG time. I especially liked how he threw that girly little slap with his right while Henderson came at him like a wrecking ball. Then Henderson talks about the late punch "to shut him up a little bit" haha. Got all my predictions right except for Lesnar. Thought he was going to win but I refused to pick him.
Last edited by blu_yu_away : 12-07-2009 at 01:02 PM.
LOL. man it was amazing.. He had his right hand loaded and was throwing it a hell of a lot in the first 2 rounds.. He just knew he was a better fighter and fought the fight as so. I like how Bisping's whole body tensed up after taking that massive right hand, lmao. I got them all right except for the GSP match(and fitch, but who cares about fitch? he wasn't on the main card) Although I knew GSP was going to take it, and it was ultimately going to boil down to Thiago's takedown defense, I didn't want to pick GSP.. I wanted a highlight reel finish for Thiago.. it was a good card.. I don't even remember anything that happened after. I was soo tanked last night.
EDIT:
I went downstairs and I have a mess on the floor and a broken plate.. wtf

Post UFC 100: Antics, Responses, and Akiyama future?
Let's see, this could have been written earlier.. but Your talking about me here. I'm one of the most laziest most procrastinating people you'll ever meet. Let's just Jump right in.
Brock Lesnar Antics
Everyone went bat sh*t crazy when they seen Brock Lesnar act the way he did at the end of his match of UFC 100. Calling it unprofessional and that it gives the sport of MMA a bad name. This is what he did:
1. Told Frank Mir, "Let's hear you talk your **** now."
2. Was getting Boo'd by the crowd so he gave them the double bird.
3. Dissed the UFCs biggest sponsor: Bud Light
4. Said he was going to bang his wife.
I seriously think only one of those things was bad. That's dissing the UFCs biggest sponsor; and that's just from a business stand point. Everyone else is just looking for reasons to hate Brock Lesnar. There has always been disrespect among fighters at the end of a fight. ESPECIALLY in fights where they've talked so much sh*t about each other, like this one. Everyone just hates Brock and I don't know why. Is it his WWE background? His shear size? Maybe it's the fact that he is going to beat everyone's favorite fighter in the Heavyweight division. I don't see the problem, Lesnar apologized in the post fight press conference and was even made to drink Bud Light by UFC Pres. Dana White. White must have tore him a new one after that diss on Bud Light he made. There's a couple things you need to know about Brock, 1 he's not a very bright person. and 2 he gets carried away, especially after a huge win like that, the biggest in his career. So sh*ts going to happen and the big dumb idiot is going to say things, so what? It makes it more entertaining for me. It doesn't make him any less of an athlete or MMA star.
After UFC 100 one thing is for sure; Brock Lesnar is legit in the Heavyweight division.
"Dangerous" Dan Henderson
In the wake of the Lesnar controversy, everyone also thought the 2nd flying right hand that hit Michael Bisping after he had been knocked the f*ck out was uncalled for. Especially after Hendo said, "I just gave him that extra shot to shut him up a bit." Whatever, go cry me a river. Seriously, MMA fans are getting so bitchy now a days. I think it's the TUF crowd that came in for the trend.. We never had so many people whining like this before in the good ol' days. Well just to clarify, Hendo did NOTHING wrong. If anything it was Yamasaki's fault for not stopping it sooner. A fighter is trained to go until: 1) The bells rings or 2) The referee stops it. That's it.
Shane Carwin responds to Lesnar's antics
Carwin blogged on his official site about Lesnar's antics and called him "Lame" for doing stuff that was "completely uncalled for." He also says Lesnar maybe a champion, but he will probably will never get the respect of a champion. I think he's on to something here. I don't see Lesnar ever getting respect, and I don't ever want to neither. Why? Because it would just make me so mad that the hypocritical fans that hate him so much now, would cling to his ball sack later on because they realize that he's unstoppable.
Shane Carwin is scheduled to face Cain Valesquez in a fight to potentially determine the number one contender. I think Carwin may have it, but I can't count Cain out. He has heart, and if he shows up any better than he did against Kongo, which would more than likely be the case. I think Cain could beat Carwin via decision or ground and pound TKO.
Yoshihiro Akiyama "Sexy-yama"
Sexy-yama won a close split decision against Alan Belcher. I thought he had won 29-28. And upon rewatching UFC 100, I still feel that way. I'm excited for this guy and I want to see him gain success in the UFC.. what's next for him though? I could see him fighting Bisping for his next big UFC fight.. Maybe even Wanderlei Silva or Nate Marquardt would be great match ups for this kid. What does everyone else think?

In a recent interview with UFC owner, Lorenzo Fertitta, he spoke about wanting to sign Fedor Emelianenko, the P4P best heavyweight in the world today:
Lorenzo on FEDOR
"The pressure’s not on me. The pressure’s on him. They already know. The facts are the facts. We made him the best offer out there, more money than anybody offered him –- so you can’t say it’s about the money. Then they come back and they say, “Well, it’s a one-sided contract.” We offered the exact same contract that three hundred other guys have signed, including Brock Lesnar, Chuck Liddell, Anderson Silva, GSP, all the top stars
Why is that contract not good enough for Fedor? What Fedor wants is this. He doesn’t want to be exclusive. So, it’s like saying, okay, Tom Brady: “I’m going to play for New England Patriots one Sunday, but you know what? After that game’s over, I want to be a free agent and go see where I can play for the rest of the season.”"
He ends the answer with he thinks it's a matter of management and that he wants to actually sit down and talk with Fedor, and he say's he's certain they'll figure something out. He says his Sambo is ok, but what he doesn't want is him going to fight with other organizations. Fedor is giving an interview to Inside MMAs own, Bas Rutten. And it will air this Friday. I'll post what was said about him and the UFC.
Lorenzo on Crocop
"We have a direct relationship with Cro Cop and we talk to him on the phone and the deal went down so quickly. It wasn’t a one-fight deal. The contract was a quick one-fight contract, but he gave us his word that it was going to be a four-fight deal. I just got back from Croatia last week, spent some time with Mirko, went to his house. (He’s a) super nice guy, we went to lunch, and the fact of the matter is yesterday I got a contract signed for three fights. "
Looks like Crocop will be coming back and fighting in the UFC. After all that DREAM controversy, I'm glad he decided to come back to the UFC. I wonder who they will pit him against and if he will get a shot at the title. I believe he's scheduled to fight at UFC 103, at least they're trying to get the deal finalized.
Bobby Lashley's MMA Career on hold?
It seems as though the Brock Lesnar clone, that has a spotless MMA record of 4-0 will not be doing MMA, at least for a while. Sources say Lashley has signed a Deal with TNA, a pro wrestling organization. He has to show up 4 times a month. Just enough time for his TV appearance so he doesn't have to do any house shows. I wonder if he'll still be able to fight MMA while he is signed to the organization. Only time and a statement will tell.

Reason: spelled fedor's last name wrong =\
So much has happened int he world of MMA since my Last post, I don't know where to Begin:
Affliction, Barnett fails them.. Their downfall:
The most exciting PPV this year has been canceled after their main event was not going to be able to take place. Josh Barnett boned another drug test and wasn't given a license to fight as planned. In the whole 72 hour deboggle They came up with 2 likely candidates for take Barnett's place in the main event, Vitor Belfort agreed(although he was scheduled to fight on the card as a Middleweight, he has fought in the Heavyweight division) and then Brett Rogers said yeah to it too. In the end though, They ended up canceling the entire show and going under.. more than likely never to be seen again.
StrikeForce picks up some affliction fights:
On the Strikeforce card where Gina Carano and Cyborg will be headlining(The first time ever females will headline a big promotions MMA event) Renato Babalu Sobral and Gegard Mousasi will find a home there. The promotion was more than happy to pick up this bout which is for the WAMMA Light Heavyweight Championship.
Fedor Emelianenko and the UFC, a possibility?
The world's top pound for pound Heavyweight, and holder of the WAMMA Heavyweight Championship didn't catch wind of the cancellation until he had arrived in the United States. Although it is unclear if he has met with the UFC, he did say to the press that he will be using his time here in America to hear offers from MMA Fighting Promotions and wishes to hear from the UFC. Fedor is the UFC is a possibility, but I wouldn't hold my breathe. More than likely he's going to go to DREAM, in my honest opinion.

I just heard the biggest freaking rumor in the world.. want to hear it?
The UFC has closed a deal with one of the most elusive fighters they have never been able to get their hands on.
FEDOR IS SIGNING WITH THE UFC
It's still a rumor, and it's all the buzz on MMA fight forums right now. They say Dana White will announce it this Friday in a press conference in Dallas and will have Fedor Sign his contract there in front of everyone. So we'll see mother ****ers.. we'll see.

LMAO. Just looking at these old posts, mainly the fedor one, makes me LOL. I'm bringing this sucker back, now that PJ is all caught up with the UFC and is watching the awesomeness that is Pride Fighting Championships, he should be able to look in here and post.
As always I just try and bring news and MMA randomness in here.. Anything funny you watched? post it, even if it was on an old PPV.
