Posts: 230    |  Sony to slash 10,000 jobs and Microsoft fined $42 million Struggling electronics maker Sony corp has started offering early retirment to workers as part of its 10,000 postions worldwide. Sony has vowed to revive its ailing operations with a range of reforms over the next three years, including slashing 4000 Japanese and 6000 overseas jobs. Read in Australian currency, Microsoft fined $42 million (au) South Koreas anti-rust watchdog fined Microsoft Corp 33 billion WON ( Aud $42.52 million) for alleged unfair business practices and ordered it to take corrective measures such as either unbundling certain software from Windows or selling the software of competetors along with it. The ruling by the Fair Trade Commision comes after the US software giant reached seperate settlements with companies that then withdrew the complaints that led to the investigation.
