Default I cannot drive.

I have played Project Gotham, Burnout 3, NFS, and PGR3. In every single game, I cannot drive for anything. I find the steering way to sensitive, itls like a ratio of 1:15 way to much. I just dont like racing games for this reason, I suppose i could do better with a stering wheel type thingy, but there is no way in hell, i am going to sit in front of a toy steering wheel and play vidiogames. I just don't find the controlls to be much like driving a real car at all.
Comments, Suggestions, Insights are welcome, please try not to sell me on racing games though. That sale has passed.

Im not a big fan of racing games, but I do enjoy the Burnout Series and NFS:MW. Have u tried changing the handling on vehicles in NFS:MW? It makes a difference. As for the PGR series, I cant stand the way cars drive in that game. Also the racing wheels kinda suck. I tried one before on the xbox and it was terrible. Definitely reccommend not getting one of those.

Rally sport racing. Those are the only types I bother with, and I do not own any racing games for the same reason you put. I just can't control them. I wind up trashing the car and losing to some 11 year old with ADHD. I like the Rally racing just because I live in Oregon and every commute is like rally racing with the weather here. My little Corolla is ferocious.

not to nag, but an 11yr old w/ ADHD would most likely not be sitting infront of a gaming system. perhaps ADD, but even then they'd more then likely loose intrest before the race is up depending upon the severity of his ADD/ADHD but yeah, Attention Deffecit Hyper-Active Disorder not generally going to sit still. but on another note, i hate the PGR handling, NFS:MW is much easier, and so is Midnight Club 2/3 (Xbox/Ps2)

I have the same problem, but I got use to it. And for the first time since the N64, I have a racing game "PGR3".

Yeah its just something you have to get use to. PGR3 is probably the best all-around racing game Ive played and Ive played a lot. Just start out with the lower class cars and work your way up, thats how you get use to the handling.

Cool

Some racing games have horrible handling/physics systems like the burnout series, but games like Forza Motorsport are great, i find then very realistic. Maybe im just saying that because im good at it, hmmmm. I was 3rd overall on hotlap rank for a while but i dont mean to brag.

Well the main reason they are so sensitve is the fact the full car "lock" is reduced from around 2 turns of the real wheel compared to a few centimetres on the control pad but it just takes a bit of getting used to.

When it comes to PGR3, the series is arcade orientated so handling will be rather "pointy" and "slidy" but its all good fun.

Speaking of racing wheels, I wil not buy one for the 360 until one comes out with force feedback which makes everything much more accurate.
