Default Lost (starts in the U.K. tonight)

The TV series Lost which has been show in the States a while now and has something like 20 million viewers and had 12 emmy nominations premieres tonight in the U.K. on Channel 4 tonight (10/08/05) at 8:30pm. Here's the basic plot...

Quote:
After a somewhat mysterious sequence of events, an oceanic flight from Sydney to LA crashes on what appears to be a deserted island. The chance of being found and rescued are fairly small, so the survivors have to cope with a set of challenges. They have to learn to survive on the island, a mysterious place with enough dangers on it's own. Also, they have to learn to live with each other if any success is to be expected. And finally, they have to live with themselves and their pasts. Interwoven with the events on the islands are flashbacks to the pasts of some 10 main characters. Step by step, we learn a little more about their diverse and unexpected pasts as the group's quest to survive takes shape.
Anyone besides me going to be watching it tonight?

Important
Anyone who has seen the series (our Stateside members ) if you post any spoilers could you please put spoiler warnings in your post so peole who haven't seen it (like myself) can choose to read your post or not, cheers

I will be in front of the TV at 8.30 tonight for the double bill - I think this looks really interesting, and there is so little on the tele at the moment it will be nice to have something to look forward to.

Apparantly the opening episode is fantastic, although I've not read up on it much as I don't want to spoil it. I agree with not much on telly at the moment, apart from CSI there's nothing else I watch.

haha, good for NZ.

I also like the Catherine Tate show and Extras, sometimes Malcom in the Middle if I can remember its on, but thats pretty much all I watch - Lost is a much needed boost to my tv week.

I'll be watching this, especially seeing as there is nothing else on Wednesdays anyway, even with Sky.

I wish the BBC would start making TV shows like this (or at least ones with a big budget), we mainly have to wait for American TV shows to get any real entertainment. I'm sick of watching re-runs of Only Fools And Horses.

So for those who saw the pilot episode last night, what did you think?

I delibrately didn't read anything about this simply so I could watch it knowing nothing about the plot, characters etc. So after seeing it I'd say it's not what I was expecting. It was still good and can't wait to see how the series unfolds.

My only annoyance, was the amount of bloody adverts!

I generally find Channel 4 repeat programs on E4 later on in the week, check E4's TV listings as you may be lucky.

I only caught the start of the first episode, but watched the second one whole. I thought it was brilliant, it really is good television.

My favourite part though was in the first episode near the start, where that man got sucked into the engine

The first season finished in NZ before it started in the UK hahawhoohoo.

It's a good watch. Completely recommended.

It also has a classic cliffhanger season finale.

Fantastic show, cant wait to see more of it (I watched the next episode on E4 just after).

Ginge (morphec), if you want to see it, we have it taped on the SKY+ box.
