after the launch of Vista and the cross-platform gaming possible with Shadowrun, I think a game like this could be a possibility

let me set up my idea by referring to games that contributed to my idea

just think of..............Civilization, Command & Conquer, Battlefield or Planetside

name of the game: SUPREMACY (thinking of RISK)

genre: massively multiplayer online global domination

how to play: 3 different ways

1) refering to Civilization where you play as the leader or king of your nation, well in the game I am thinking about, you would play as the clan (nation) leader and you would manage a persisent online nation and your decisions would affect how everyone else in the game plays. your armies would consist of bots or AI until people play as your units, you would have several generals (10 to 50) under your command and they would command the bots or people in real time strategy combat like Red Alert. As a leader, you would manage the type of government you run, how much money you spend on military, research, civil projects, etc. This part of the game would play just like Civilization, of course you would be commanding real people and playing against other people

2) referring to Command & Conquer, you could choose to be a general and choose a nation set up by the number of leaders who choose to play the game. In this part of the game, you would command the battallions that your would leader would assign to you in any given battle. For example, your leader sends 4 battalions to attack a neighboring territory and you would have command of say either 400 units or 4000 (this depends on the technology available to the developer of the game; think of one battalion as 100 or 1000 men). Now, for the most part, the men you have under control are primarily bots whose AI depends on how much money your leader spends on military training. However, humans can take up about 20-40 slots on each side and play as the actual soldier.

3)referring to Battlefield, (or any 1st person shooter or 3rd person action game*) in this part of the game, you would play as a foot soldier and you could choose what nation (or clan) you would want to join and whenever you get on to play you would fight for this faction. Now the beginning of each gaming season( which would last from 3 to 6 months), your nation starts in the bronze age(think of ancient greeks) and your nation would then advance from there all the way til space travel. At the beginning of your nation's development your would be a sword fighter, spearman, archer, or slinger. the classes you could choose to play as would change as your nation advances

explaining the rules: This is a persistent online game like Chromehounds and Planetside, so it would be almost impossible for one person to rule a clan or nation all on his own, so you can choose a group of 5 to 10 players who play as the nation's leader, however, they would have follow what the initial starter of the nation has in mind. A gaming season would last from about 3 to 6 months and whatever nation has come out on top or has become the most dominate wins and that clan or nation starts the next gaming season a bonus of some kind, Like more money, better AI, or better resources, etc. Therefore, there would be an incentive to do research to advance and compete with the other nations. Also, every nation is at war unless they choose some kind of alliance with another nation and every nation has to be at war with another nation so that everyone in that nation can get online and fight in meaningful battles.

how it works: the leaders and generals would be great roles to play on the pc, and the soldiers would be great to play on the 360, however, you would have the choice to play any role on either platform. Each planet would be a specific regional server so that lag can be as limited as possible.



there is my idea, PLEASE post your comments and ideas, i really think that a game like this could really take off

it would be great if MICROSOFT GAME STUDIOS picked up on this idea, of course there would be to it than i what i just stated, but i layed everything out pretty much the way i imagined

Think a game with that much stuff going on, you'd probably have to PC it. (Most RST and world games seem to not do well on the consoles...memory issues?) You ever play Rise of Nations? It is like a hybrid or CIV and C&C. Really fun.

i don't think that all elements of the game could played on the 360, but with Vista and cross platform gameplay, and if a bigger hard drive comes out, i think within 2 years, a game like this would be possible

people could play the leader and general parts on teh pc, while solidiers could play on xbox and pc

That'd be pretty cool. There'd also have to be a system developed to figure out who would be leader and all in case 84,000 people want to be leader of one clan. Maybe everything could start out AI and you have to rise through the ranks?

if you can do it all power to ya i dint vote though because i dont like those kind of games but right on man but just one thing dont try to make it TOO ultamate just keep it rather simple
