Posts: 920   |  Share your fun/funny bus stories we've all ridden a bus at one time or another. most of us rode one as kids to school, ride one ocassionally around town, or ride one routinely to work. your story can be about any interesting and/or funny experience(s) regarding a school bus, city bus, or subway or taxi. but try to share all your bus stories first. i took a Greyhound bus when i was 17 to for a 360 mile trip from Austin, TX to Texarkana, TX. first half of trip was fine (though really slow), but we had to switch buses at the station in Dallas, TX. i thought i was in downtown Beirut. i was a minority in the station (i'm caucasion) and it was filled about 200 people over capacity, sandwiching every tired and stinky traveler against one another. random people were constantly yelling obscenities. there was a girl my age crying in the corner. she looked homeless, possibly a runaway. just before i could pass out from nausea, we were ready to board the next bus. a middle-aged man broke in line in front of me and the ticket taker saw him and scolded him like a rented mule. i get on and scan for the first empty seat, which was next to a large Mexican woman who immediately began screaming at me in Spanish when i sat next to her. i jump up, terrified, and a guy my age offered me a seat next to him a few rows back. i could smell him from where i was standing. and the bus was almost full. this guy took stink to a new level. i vomited a little in my mouth when i sat down next to him. he tells me he ran away from home because the law was after him. i didn't ask for details. when this snail bus finally got to our next stop a couple hours later, stinky got off and i had the seat to myself. fresh air. kinda. half the bus emptied and i was finally relieved to have some room to myself and less people to smell. as soon as we started rolling, this rather large Mexican fellow moves from his seat to sit right next to me. actually it was on top of me. i look around at all the empty rows and get really confused and angry. i try to ask him what the deal is, but of course he doesn't speak English and just kinda ignores me. holy hell i wanted to slice my wrists open. 3 hours later i get to my final destination. that day i learned that a 5.5 hour drive by car is the same as a 10 hour trip from the bowels of hell by bus. |

Posts: 4,837     | a bunch of chavs got on the bus and started hitting one of the windows until if fell out, then they all bailed off the fire exit

Posts: 440 | I was on a bus once, and you'll never guess who I saw. Keannu Reeves and Sandra Bullock were there...craziest thing ever. But it got weirder, we found out that some psycho had attached a bomb to the bus, and if it went too slow it would explode. Luckily enough Keannu was there. |

Posts: 1,068 | I was on the bus to school. About midway through, kid falls down. We laugh, we find out he got knocked out by some other kid, we laugh harder. Everybody got kicked off the bus, had to walk to school. Missed 1st and 2nd period (Jamba Juice was calling). Another time, kid brings a lighter, and he's trying to tweak it and make the flame bigger. Screws up, pulls out matches instead, and lights 'em on fire. Lit a seat on fire. Bus driver stopped the bus, put it out, kid expelled. Fun stuff.

Posts: 23  | this actualy happened today we were sitting on the moving oven cristened the bus when one of our fellow riders decided to pull out his **** and stick it the local fat kids ear lol but wow gross

Posts: 915  | mine happened on the subway (tube) in Toronto in 2001 - there was a fair share of crazy people but these two took the biscuit: I use to wait for a train in Toronto's busiest station: Bloor St Interchange and every morning it was the same.-Wall to wall people. I can recall one morning in particular that the line was 12 deep and each train was relieving about 1 row at a time. There was nowhere to move and you basically had to hold your personal space as best you could to avoid falling over or getting crushed. Over the din of the crowd and trains, I could hear garbled swearing and it was getting louder and louder. Something like "Rat F**ker b*stard a$$wipe muther F**ker crap sh!t" etc.... When I looked up, I could just see this old woman in a raggedy trench coat stumbling through the crowd having a right 'ole swearin' session (I could only imagine she had tourettes or was just plain crazy) - amazingly, despite how hard the crowd was packed in, a path opened up in front of this woman like moses parting the red sea. You could hear people groan and grunt under the strain - but I guess it was more bearable to take the weight of the crowd rather than get too close to this crazy woman. Finally, a train pulled in and the swear woman took her seat of choice and fell asleep. In retrospect, she may have been the craziest person I had ever seen - or the most ingenius! The second nutjob I saw on the subway was less dramatic - I was riding south from Shephard Ave and the train stopped at near St. Claire Ave - another strange woman boarded the train |
