Default Anyone picked up GTA: Vice city stories?

If so, how is it?

After about 3-4 hours of play time:

Pros:
- Its Vice City
- Soundtrack is still fantastic
- Variety of vehicles, including boats, jet skis, and choppers
- Same control scheme of LCS (and it worked)

Cons:
- Voice talent is not as good as other GTAs
- Blurry graphics when running obstacles or turning fast
- No hidden packages
- Just not that interesting of a story as of where I am (it can get better, im still real early in the game)
- Mission loading screens get extremely repetitive

Its still a quality GTA title. I cant fully review it yet as I am not that far into it. But as of where I am, I say LCS was a better game but like I said my view could change easily. It just seems VCS was not given that fully GTA treatment, it seems it was just plotted together instead of made from the ground up. The loading screens are just getting flat out boring - LCS did not have near as many loading screens. For instance on an early mission you are sent to kill some gang members. When you get there, you get a loading screen from a 15 second cinematic, then another loading screen to play the first part of the mission (shoot 2 guys), then another loading screen to the building and a cinematic, then a loading screen again to get back to the mission with another loading screen to finish it off.

Its not that the PSP cannot handle this game - it can since LCS was much smoother than this and there are a lot of games on the system that have no loading screens - it just seems Rockstar Leeds didnt give it as much programming love as they did with LCS. It seems to be compiled together than built piece by piece.

I am still enjoying it like I would any other GTA. I think what it is - is that GTA LCS was compared to GTA 3, where as GTA VCS is compared to GTA VC - and since GTA VC was a major step up from GTA 3, VCS didnt take as big of step from LCS.

I'd say rent it to get a good judgement. I am addicted to the shooting range mini-game.

Sounds like that game was rushed based on your review of the game.

The GameSpot review hits it dead on of what the game is. Its still fun, dont get me wrong. It just wasnt what I expected. Now if it had Infrastructure multiplayer support, I'd be all over this game. It has such much depth in the multiplayer but is ad-hoc only.
