Research Shows Massive Support For The PS3

It seems that north americans would rather spend full asking price for the PS3then any other console this generation.

800,000 are buying 360

5.7 million for the Wii

And a massive 8.9 million for PS3.

These people are willing to pay full asking price and want to buy the console.
Obviously there are going to be a huge shortage of PS3's but since the people have waited this long just for the PS3 and dont get one at launch it wont hurt them much to wait a month or even 3 to get a PS3.

I personally got the first pre order for the PS3 at my local Ebgames and a preorder of resistence fall of man and a couple other games. I am happy as can be.

Lucky bastard i wish i didnt have school that day so i could have waited in line to pre order my PS3.I did already pre order Fall Of Man but i really dont how am gonna get a PS3.

Dont worry man I read somewhere that by early-mid december, sony will ship another 200 000 units to north america. Probably before christmas so you can always try then.

So basically what this usless study is saying is that by polling 2000 supposedly random people, you can get the opinions of 15.4 million people? I don't think so. These numbers were inflated... I can do the same thing and keep the porportions accurate:

26,000,000 want the PS3
18,000,000 want the Wii
2,300,000 want the 360

Those numbers I gave above match the porportions they "guestimated" in that study, but why stop there? It's just like the exit polls in the last elections and why you can't believe any poll really. You can't get the opinion of the nation by only polling a couple thousand people. My guess is that the people conducting this study either didn't get the result they wanted or got a lot of useless data they had to inflate. Believe me, I deal with useless data every day in my line of work.

PS3 seems like the weakest console to me, but i'll probably get one eventually as no doubt there'll still be some great games.

Here we go again.

The 360 already has an install base of +7 million units sold, so an additional 800,000 is nice. Now let me put it this way, lets say that Sony gets 500,000 units into the US before Xmas, and all of them are sold. Then Xbox 360 sells it's 800,000 units as depicted in the numbers above. HOw long will all those other buyers wait for their PS3? How long will it take Sony to manufacture that many units?

Even if we give merit to those numbers, they are clearly unrepresentational of what will really happen. Granted, 100 million PS2s sold does mean, in theory, they have a much larger install base. But I have some serious doubts about production woes on Sony's end with the PS3, let alone the angst from potential buyers.

to be honest it does say it was posted in 06.. and "recent research done by Los Angeles based Interpret (a technological research company)". it doesn’t say if they got the data from around the countries or just in LA and then did a guesstament for the whole country..

I cant trust this information.. its just not clear enough in my opinion.. and does any one see a link in the article its self?....cuz I don’t.. it doesn’t even point out the real company that did the research. Cuz “Los Angeles based Interpret” isn’t what im looking for. The more and more I look into this the more and more I think this is all just a loud of BS.. its even on a PS3 forum.. the forum didn’t even make the poster put in a link or a source for his findings.

In my opinion..its complete BS..nothing more
