Posts: 2,523 | both blueray and hddvd are pointless w/out a 1080 TV.
i figure HDDVD is better because:
a) is waaaay cheaper (200(hd) compared to 600(br) for consoles, or 400(hd) compared to 1000+(br) for standalones.
b)for cheaper, you get the exact same resolution, and at this time, the pic quality is rated BETTER on HDDVD for many movies.
c) there is more options as far as feature integration in the HDDVDs (PiP pop ups, ect ect ect)
d) nothing sony has done as far as new media types has ever been a big hit (Beta max, mini disk umd, blue ray comming soon) so im not to keen their odds.
e) MS has Peter Jackson on board. that means LOTR will probably only be on HDDVD.. good enough for me!
f) in the end, the only "blueray exclusives" will probably only be movies owned by sony's studio, as the "disk war" heats up. Blue ray is just hyped much more.
g)HDDVD players are automatically backward compatable w/ DVDs.
f)HDDVDs can come in COMBO packs for those who do not have HDDVDs, but want to buy one one day, can buy a DVD thats a DVD on one side and an HDDVD on the other.
h) did i forget to mention that HDDVD's are generally cheaper than blueray disks??
oh yea, what does blueray got on that!?!?? wooo haaa!! hehe..
seriously, what advantages does blueray have exept that for RIGHT NOW there are more blue ray movies |
