That was a nice little tangent on Windows Vista and your hardware problem (which are amazing), but the topic of PS3/Sony was missed for the most part. I am considering editing your post... not to offend you, but to keep the topic on track. I'll let Argentus have a chance to read your opinion, but if you do not change it within the next hour, I'll do it for you. Focus on Argentus' third paragraph if you wish comment on it, please.

I edited the post to keep it more on track. Better?

PS... It's a really long edit

Holy bat droppings! I'll have to take time out to read all that.

I'll let it slide, since you have brought it back to topic. I'll let the Windows Vista/Hardware opinion stay as a side topic, but any further comment on it will be monitered.

Anyway, thanks for making my job easier.

Np. I only got into the Windows Vista topic as leverage of proving my point.

Don't worry, when microsoft came out with xbox 4 years ago it looked like a peace of crap. But with in time the system grew and dominated. And the fact the Xbox 360 will have live ps3 cant even compare. Have any one ever played a ps2 game online? It ****en blows. And since FPS are mostly played online how many does the ps2 have? Trust me, i have xbox and xboxlive for 4 years and i was never dissapointed. ps2 and Gamecube on the other is collecting dust right now. The last time i play my ps2 was GTA:SA and my Gamecube with Zelda. Just get a 360 and xboxlive and you "WILL HAVE FUN" Trust me i had my douts to.

Have you played San Andreas for Xbox as well? I brought some friends over to check it out who have it for their PS2 and they said something about the Xbox version having more features and looking "smoother"... But it's been awhile. Perhaps it's something to look up

I know that Rockstar has announced that they "haven't yet determined" where their next installment in the GTA series will go, which is a big deal considering it's never been a debate for them before. It's supposedly "hard" to capture their attention according to some news publishers.

So it remains to be announced where they will launch their next game. But in the end, I'm betting on that it will be multi-platform, like the rest of the GTA titles.

First of all, I'm a new member, and owner of a ps2.
Now that doesn't mean that I'm a PS fanboy or anything.
I really don't know what I'm going to buy yet for next-gen.
They both look tempting, but right now, the games for ps3 are looking better (NOT graphically) than the 360 games.
One thing that worries me is that price of the ps3, even though the 360 is priced at 300/400.

Well you shouldn't be worried. You're getting an awesome deal. If you were going to build a computer with equivelant technology (which isn't possible for another year or so) it would probably cost you thousands of $. Trust me, this is a very good deal for what you're getting Heck, I live in Canada so the systems cost another 100$ here plus I have a 15% tax rate and I still think it's a great deal. I suppose I could wait a year or two for the price to drop, but I can't wait that long!

Also, if you do some research you'll discover that 300 or even 400 isn't an out of the ordinary launch price for a new console. Most consoles were released for that initial price including the Xbox and Ps2. At least I think so, don't quote me on that. The highest a console was ever released for was 1000$ US and that was several years ago. I saw this chart on price inflation with the consoles, I'll try to find that again, it's really interesting.

As for the PS3 I don't know how much it will be, and I don't know if Sony can afford to sell it with much of a loss. All I know is it will be "expensive" according to Sony, unless they lied again. Considering how the systems will initially start off the same anyways, and the fact the Xbox 360 will be out much longer before the PS3's release you may just be better off getting a 360. In my opinion you should figure out what you really want out of a gaming system and going from there.

Yes, sadly few people know that these consoles will be more powerful than any computer can be in at least a year.

Plus, a couple of things that may pursuade you, you can turn the console on and off with your controller!!!!!!!!

The DVD drive has been upgraded (It ISN'T the same one in the Xbox) meaning load time are faster....

XBOX LIVE...

and, I honsetly don't understand how anyone can think PS titles are better than Xbox titles...
How can anything compete with PGR3, Elder Scrolls, PDZ, Halo 3, Gears of War? (I know there are more good titles, just typing kinda quickly).

Hey, I bought that Xbox 360 Launch Guide today. It has some great detail. I've only skimmed it because I've been busy but I read one part that said the load times are so good for games like kameo and PDZ that they seem almost non-existant! That's amazing!!!!!!!!

I read Sony in some big trouble they are laying off 10,000 people and restructuring. Their new CEO is American. Some of the buisnesses they are in they are getting rid of all together. From what I read only really money maker for them is gaming side.

Where did you read that? Can you provide a link, I'd love to see it.

Also, aren't they losing a TON of money on the gaming? That's what I read. Some big number like 200+ million from just last year.

No sir, you are not.

The Blu-Ray disc technology is barely out of the lab and from all I've read about so far it's still slower and full of tons of bugs. Especially the lock up one. But I've explained this too many times and there is a thread for Blu-Ray. Anyone got the link for it?

I looked and I can't find it. Think it's called something like 'blu ray vs hd dvd'

Don't worry. Check out all the threads these forums if you can. It's a lot of reading but believe me once you're done you'll know what you want.

I sure do, and nothing's going to make me change my mind.

But DAMN I can't wait any longer! Give me my 360 NOW! AHHHHHHH!
