Posts: 40 | I've never seen a 7.1 sorround sound system for a home theater area, has anyone else seen that.
Possible DVD playback?
I think we should think about that, Nintendo wants consoles to strictly stick with gaming, they think sony and MS are aren't focused on the gaming aspect. they were against media playback in the Gamecube, I seen to remember them being against it in the revolution. Quote:
System 2
Dual 1.8 Ghz IBM G5 PowerPC processors
256 Megs DDR Main memory (64 dedicated to sound, using a 7.1 sound system at 196 Khz)
128 Megs GDDR3 Video memory
500 Mhz graphics chip (ATI developed, 16 Pixel Pipe, 220 Million transistors)
| ATI chip seems a lot like the x360 one. "256 Megs" seems a lot like the x360 original plan of memory. Quote:
System 1:
2.7 Ghz PowerPC G5 Processor
512 Megs total Ram (128 for video, 64 for sound)
600 Mhz graphics chip
| Why do both of these system seem so much like a mac, does anyone know the specs for the x360 alpha dev kits, I'm pretty sure they were on Power Macs, and system 1 is alot like a power mac |
