Default Rumored Revolution specs

I founds these specs for Revoution at TNG:
System 1:

2.7 Ghz PowerPC G5 Processor
512 Megs total Ram (128 for video, 64 for sound)
600 Mhz graphics chip

System 2:

Dual 1.8 Ghz IBM G5 PowerPC processors
256 Megs DDR Main memory (64 dedicated to sound, using a 7.1 sound system at 196 Khz)
128 Megs GDDR3 Video memory
500 Mhz graphics chip (ATI developed, 16 Pixel Pipe, 220 Million transistors)

Shared Information:

Built in 15 Gigabyte harddrive
Blue-laser disk technology
Potential DVD playback
Case design philosophy more like the N64, less like the GameCube

Can someone tell me how these are compared to the xbox 360 and PS3 specs?

Oooooo, that'll prolly be the other next gen system I buy, if there's a Zelda game and if they don't do another completely retarded version of Mario.

Yeah, that 7.1 surround sound is a good idea, but then I thought, "wait a sec, I don't even have 5.1 surround sound yet!"

Anyway, those are not the affirmed specs of the Rev., just speculation at this point. Hopefully we'll get more info on this shortly... Sept. 27, perhaps? - nah, that's something totally different.

Remember these are just rumored specs not the official ones. We'll learn more about the Revolution Sept. 16 at TGS.

I have a 5.1 Surrond sound system, and I'm not upgrading any time soon. Then again, I might before the end of the Rev's life.

I know these numbers are just rumors, but it sounds good to me.

I've never seen a 7.1 sorround sound system for a home theater area, has anyone else seen that.

Possible DVD playback?
I think we should think about that, Nintendo wants consoles to strictly stick with gaming, they think sony and MS are aren't focused on the gaming aspect. they were against media playback in the Gamecube, I seen to remember them being against it in the revolution.

ATI chip seems a lot like the x360 one. "256 Megs" seems a lot like the x360 original plan of memory.

Why do both of these system seem so much like a mac, does anyone know the specs for the x360 alpha dev kits, I'm pretty sure they were on Power Macs, and system 1 is alot like a power mac

I don't thimk that Revo will have Blue Ray disk. It doesn't make any sense.
I have heard too about the dvd playback and if think it very possible cause GC was heavily criticised fot the lack of it.
What's funny though is tha with revo you'll be able to d/l games from previous nitendo systems like SNES

It uses DVD, not blu-ray.

the 600MHz card is impressive considering MS and Sony only have 500MHz, the rest of Nintendo's specs prolly won't be making that 600MHz very utilizable.
