I 'bought' STALKER yesterday and played as much as i could(only had a few hours to do so) and it seems very good. Its totally different then i thought it would be like, its not really a normal FPS its more like deus ex if anyone ever played that.
Oblivion with guns really sums it up.

Ahhhh, Mr. J.C Denton.(The Agent you play as in Deus Ex for those who don't know) Yeah, Deus ex rocked. They way you could chose how to upgrade with the nano tech stuff was so insane. Come to think of it, the AI was pretty damn good in that game for it's time. A very long game as well (you hear that modern day game developers!!???? A looooonnnnng game.)

It looks incredible but not in a pure graphic sense(if that makes sense)hard to explain, HL2 and other FPS look alot better IMO, like the gun textures and so on. but this looks incredible in a i dunno, whole world sense. The map is massive there are pratically no loading times after the first load up and its just so overwhelming, there so many things going on around you.And the surrounding world trees,grass,buildings.... look great, view distance is miles aswell.

for example: You get this mission to go a stalker in a compond over the railway bridge, theres about 3.6million ways of getting there,i went under the bridge and had a huge fight with the army who have a blockade there, i was losing so legged it another way to find the army chasing me and they got attacked by wild dogs, bandits and lighting! classic. then i stumble across some random dead body only to find a PDA with another mission for me. and so on...
