Xbox will be numeral uno, followed by PS3, and Rev at a distant third.

I will buy them all, but this is what I pre-dict.

I'm a big Xbox fan, but I try to keep things objective in cases like these.
Microsoft will definetly have an advantage in America and Europe, due to its worldwide release date, the superb powerful machine and names like PGR3, Gears of War, Oblivion, COD2, etc... I think that, if things go as expected, they have great chances to win in this side of the world.

However, Japan is a completly different animal, and also a huge market. I believe it will take more than this generation for Microsoft to have a strong presence in that market and they know it. That's kind of a "taken for granted" market for Sony as things are at the moment, and I think that the japanese market will, in the end, decide the winner, and that's exactly the reason why Microsoft's putting so much effort on developing asian games and hiring very heavy weight asian developers/producers.

I think that, at the ned of the x360-Ps3 generation, Sony will still have an advantage in the overall sales, but not remotely as big as they did this gen, that will be a very, very close competition, and if Microsoft finally manages to get an important japanese marketshare, then Sony will have a huge amount of reasons to be scared for the Ps4-Xbox ¿720? gen.

That is correct, nobody wants another Microsoft's Monopoly here.
We want them to use their bucks and resources to make it the best option for us all, and that's exactly what they're doing. The x360 wouldn't be such a beast of a machine if they didn't have to compete with Sony, and the same goes for the games. Just take a look at the work implied in the making of Project Gotham Racing 3... 40GB of pictures for each location to, afterwards, render them into the backgrounds, and don't get me started with the car's inside and exterior modeling! Never before a racing game was so ambitious, never.

That's the good thing of such a big competition, the end users are the winners.

I always thought ps3 would be the winner, but lately i've had doubts. With the 360 being released earlier and all, and probably being cheaper, I think the x360 will sell more.

Revolution - I think they can accomplish the same kind of thing they did with the DS with their console. MS still has a good chance too though, and as far as the PS3, THE REIGN OF SONY IS NO MORE!

you're right xpitbull but i think that Nitendo had a chance and pretty much wasted it.
They could have outperformed Sony but they went the other way round and stated that they'll not support High Definition (not that i care, i don't have HDTV anyways)

It's hard to tell. The Xbox 360 has the potential to win it, but then you shouldn't underestimate Sony fanboys, or the general public for that matter. Take the PSP for example; go into any store that sells it in the UK and I'd guarentee that they'd hype it like hell. Not to mention the reports in the news and newspapers that say it's the best thing ever. It's most certainly not because of it's power, but because of it's make. In Europe, Playstation is massive. Playstation 2 at the moment has on avarage over 4x the shop space of the Xbox (which has only 2x the shop space of the Gamecube). Playstation is big, and on the PS2 alone you'll see just how well the PS3 will sell. It could be (and more than likely will be) far more expensive than the 360 and yet thousands of people will still try to buy it come it's release week. In the first year at least, the PS3 will be the best selling.

But the one place Sony may trip up on is the games. I'm not talking the likes of Project Gotham Racing 3, Halo 3 Gears of War and the likes being released exclusively on the 360, I'm talking about Need for Speed, FIFA, Grand Theft Auto. In short: multi-platform games. Nearly everyone I know who has a PS2 has their game catalogue filled with multi-platform releases. At the moment, not everyone realises that there are multi-platform games. They see Need for Speed and FIFA and countless EA titles as being the reason to own a PS2. One day, they might wake up and find out that you can get the same games on a cheaper, but just as good (better IMO ), console. Only then will the 360 have a chance of beating the PS3 next generation.

I agree with u completely. This next gen. will still belong to Sony, but the generate after that, Sony is really in danger

But the next generation after this, after the PS3, will be just out of this world, and can’t imagine what stuff their going to have after the x360 and the PS3. if u look at the last games coming out the Xbox like burnout revenge, its amazing for its time, 4 years ago u wouldn’t believe that the was Xbox, you’d think it’s the Xbox 2, what I’m trying to say is that look how far developers are pushing the console even at the end of its life cycle. Imagine how far the developers are going to push the Xbox 360 and ps3. Even then I doubt its going to get to the graphic level of the Kill zone 2 CGI video. Guarantee you’ll see games like KZ 2 in the next gen. after the PS3 and X360.

But it’s getting there.
