Doubtful...but it's a fun prospect nevertheless.

Posts: 828 | Just saw the title of the topic/thread.
It will never happen.
SEGA Is out of the console race.
Even if someone else creates it, we cant sustain 3 large consoles.
Unless they tap into another unused market, say people at work, then it could survive.
Why cant people let the DC die. Funny, if all these people were this serious with buying the DC in the day, maybe it would still be here.

Boost | Nah the fact that its biggest marketing tools were its online play which was groundbreaking yet very poorly executed and its supposedly thinking Ai which turned out to be the equivalent to just another difficulty setting and the fact that you could play pirated games and movies right out the box add poor craftsmanship to the easily broken system and you have Tah Dah Virtual boy part 2...It was a great Idea with better marketing that was just poorly executed
And as for sega ...all there games except maybe the 2k series suck nowadays
do you really wanna give them another system
Shut up and go play halo |

Posts: 1,982 | I loved my Dreamcast and I certainly enjoyed many of the games the system had (Shenmue is an all-time fav for me). However, the fact remains that there is simply no need for a Dreamcast 2. Even if Sega had the push to do such a thing, the market does not need it, nor do I.
We all have plenty of games to play and consoles to play on. The thought of having to thinking about another console being thrown into the already crazy console war just makes me sick to my stomach.
Forget Dreamcast 2 and instead tell Sega to start making better games. |

Posts: 327 | its prob a pipe dream at this point, i wouldnt mind, as i loved my dreamcast, but it failed for a reason. it is pretty interesting as to why they would file for that though, even though it should be noted that the re-filed for "dreamcast" and not "dreamcast 2".

Posts: 828 | I hope Sony Dies off, Sony PS only exists because the Big N shafted them back in the SNES CD attachment era!
If it wasn't for that, Nintendo would rule the world!

Posts: 5,094 | True. Nintendo going for the cartridge over the CD killed them against the PS1. If they went for the CD format who knows where we would be and if we would even be talking about Sony gaming machines. |

Posts: 327 | an apple handheld console might be a reality sooner than you think (ipod with games capability, it does have the hard drive space...), i mean, who would have ever though M$ would have joined the console wars? and btw, anybody remember the old linux game system? that had to be like 8 years ago.

Posts: 3,238 | I don't think an Apple console is likely at all. Their M.O. is about building new markets, not entering mature ones. They don't even have a gaming division to my knowledge, while MS had experience with developing games before releasing the Xbox.
