I think the nintendo wii is more of fum gaming instead of serious gaming like the 360 but then there are accidents.
they say the standard strap is too this.
there is a world wide shortage of wii's in the world now. there will be no wii's for sale untill Febuary.
but the good thing are the games. they are fun and energetic.
the nintendo wii is smaller than what you think.it's just over the size of a disk and has a lot of memory space. It can also go on the on the internet!

Its ok and fun for 5 mins with a few buddies over. isnt something i could get into on my own. it got very boring very quickly when i played it

Until it has HD graphics, storage and games that aren't just a mere collection of half-assed mini-games, I'm not interested. I don't care about surfing the internet on my gaming console. As strange as it sounds, the very computer I'm using right now handles that for me, and does it 100% better. Who knew?

A world wide shortage? Seems you bought into all the Nintendo rhetoric. It's called supply and demand. Nintendo purposely states they continue to be victims of the shortage when they have all the means, money, and workforce to mass produce these ****ers on a huge scale.

I can walk into the local Gamestation where I live and pick one off the shelf RIGHT NOW if I want. There is no world wide shortage. Eventually the novelty will wear off, or some pensioner will die of a heart attack after playing mario and sonic at the olympics and the family will sue Nintendo. They'll have to go back to making tamogotchis then.

Wii is in stock at my local game stores right now, there was only a shortage before and after xmas because it was being bought buy parents who wanted to play kiddy games with their children.

Nintendo mostly failed with N64 and Gamecube so they had to change their strategy. They decided to dumb down their system and market it as a toy.
I do think they hurt themselves in the long run since they aren't moving very much software and that's the long term goal.

Just like other companies did with Power Ranger figures and tickle me Elmo in the 90's, keep supply low and you are able to keep demand high. There is no reason that they can't produce left over Gamecubes at a higher rate. If people think there is a shortage then they will desire it more.

I would actually like to see MS and Sony get their acts together and put Nintendo out of business.

wii has some good games. i just got soul calibur legends for my birthday for it. wasn't sure what to expect when i put it in, but it was pretty fun. i know it isn't a game you could marathon on, it did get kind of boring, but it was fun for about 2 hours. probably pick it up in a couple days and play some more.
but as been stated about 100,000 times, the wii isn't marketed for the serious gamer, so the games are light and relatively easy (for the most part). And it's nice to take a break and play some mellow games. i also picked up super swing golf for it, looks like it will be pretty fun with a couple friends.
Been playing a lot of rachet and klank on the ps2 lately. that game is pretty fun (except for the mario jumping parts).

i think that first party nintendo games will carry it but don't expect to find any good third party games. also i think it's a shame that the controller isn't more accurate and the games aren't displayed in 720p

yeah, the res is pretty bad, especially if you have been playing a 360 or ps3. but, some games it doesn't matter to much.
there are some good games that aren't nintendo made that are pretty good.

as for accuracy; mine is pretty dang accurate, as long as i am within 6 ft of the receiver. i also think if you have the receive on teh bottom of the tv, it picks up better...mine is on the top and it causes some issues. but since i have a big screen, the bottom isn't an option. games you don't have to worry about aiming work best though, because you can be far away and the motion moves still work fine, like on tennis or bowling.

what was a sweet find that i found by mistake, was it has an internal wireless connection. i was able to configure it and set it up without any extra 100 wireless setup. that was a pleasant surprise...not that there is much to do online with a wii.

i have to move farther away from my tv or else it doesn't register my motions very well. i have it above the tv but if it works better below like you say i might try moving the sensor bar

The only game I would get on the Wii is Resident Evil 4, but I don't have a Wii. Other than that game the Wii sucks if you're looking for good choices.

Resident Evil 4 is awesome on the Wii. It is the only game I have really played on the Wii sice my son got it in Sep though I have watched and helped him on Zelda its pretty cool but no talking at all really sucks. I dont mind reading during a game but you got to have some spoken dialouge. The most cool thing is how nintendo looked out for their consumers guess what you can plug Gamecube controllers right into the Wii if you don't want to spend the money on new ones and complete backward compatablity, there is a few old resident evils I would like to play.
