Posts: 828 | Ok firstly, get a router, ie one with 4 wired ethernet ports and wireless.
Manually assign a IP adress for your 360 and other devices (although it should work anyway).
Also, lets say you can download normally at 250k per second on your PC, thats roughtly 1 megabyte per 4 seconds, or 15MB per minute. So 1 Gigabyte would take your PC on average 66.67 minutes to download. Lets just round this down to 1 hour ok.
So now you see a Game Demo on XBL, or Movie etc, and it too is 1GB. Your 360 can take roughly 3 or 4 hours to download. Thats because you dont get full speeds out of XBL. Microsoft has capped the actual speed available to I beleive its 512K per second per user. So no matter what you cant download at super speed.
I may be wrong, but I've done the above example, cause I get around 300k per second, and a 1gb file on pc took just under a hour, yet a demo on XBL went for 6 hours overnight!
Its always been slow.
