TOKYO, April 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCEI)
announced today that it will expand the Closed Beta testing for
PLAYSTATION(R)Home in Summer 2008, inviting a further number of registrants
from the PLAYSTATION(R)3 (PS3(R)) users. Following completion of the Expanded
Closed Beta test, the PLAYSTATION Home Open Beta service will commence in Fall
2008.
"We understand that we are asking PS3 and prospective PS3 users to wait a
bit longer, but we have come to the conclusion that we need more time to
refine the service to ensure a more focused gaming entertainment experience
than what it is today," said Kazuo Hirai, President and Group CEO, Sony
Computer Entertainment Inc. "Our overarching objective is to provide users
with new gaming experiences that are available only on PLAYSTATION Home.
Spending more time on the development and on the Closed Beta testing reaffirms
our commitment to bringing a quality service, maintaining the PlayStation(R)
tradition."
The PLAYSTATION Home Open Beta service that will become available in Fall
2008 will be built around providing new and fun community gaming experiences.
Details of the Closed Beta testing features, registration for the test and the
opening of the service will be announced as they become available.

Does Sony even listen to their customers? People want Home, in-game XMB and game invites. What do they do? Revamp the PSN store, which was like #8 on PS3 owner's lists. Meanwhile that glossy black dust collector just sits until I pull out the one game I actually like.

is there anyone out there that actually likes the PS3 over the 360? i don't get it. to this date, i haven't seen anything that makes the PS3 a better or more enjoyable system.

Despite that i'd still have a 360 at least the games don't get pushed back.

Visit any PS3 site and you'll see the fanboys en masse. Owning both, I absolutely, hands-down prefer the 360.

I prefer each system for their own things. Hard to say which I like more...but I'd give the nod to the 360.

All this hype around the ps3 and it's super powers and still theres a vast majority of people who actually prefer the 360 over it. Just because it has BD dosen't make it better. Thats what my mates don't understand.

I definitely like the 360 better, but I quite like my PS3 as well. They each have their own distinct features. It's nice to not play on the same console every time. Sounds weird, but that's how I feel.

I have both, and I think the PS3 is a far better peice of hardware.

But the online is better on 360 at the moment, I still much prefer playing the PS3 though.

And drakes,GT5 and UT3 are the best console games Ive played this generation.

Not Im not, I think it was well worth it, I also think the 360 was well worth it, I got my value out of it ages ago. I just happen to think the PS3 is a better console, yes it doesnt have the games library the 360 has, but the fact at least half of the games I played on the 360 were total ****e doesnt make me heed that fact.

If I dont want a game for online then Ill get it on the PS3 in a jiffy.
But the fact XBL is riddled with yanky fat kids and the only people I play with are lads on F-list and most of the time these days I play games I just play for short stints doesnt make online suit me at the moment at all.

I just think its sad as **** that people cant accept I prefer the PS3 or admit its a better console, I pitty you ***s, think you may need to get a life so you can have something to worry about.

MS are fat capalist pig yanks who would steal a handicapped granny, whereas Sony are about the same cept money grabbing japs who like to be late to the party.

Stop acting like you work for them, or as if you owe them your praise its just mega ***ness at its best.
