Posts: 952   |  Sony's Stan Glasgow admits Blu-ray a tough sell over DVD Sony's Stan Glasgow talks TVs, Blu-ray | Tech news blog - CNET News.com So we finally hear it from the horse's mouth - Sony has NO idea how to combat DVD apart from some bizarre interactive concepts including 'watching movies with a friend' and multiple endings - what? Does anyone actually want to do this? Reading between the lines - it's quite clear that Sony is not 'righting the ship' but actually trying to keep the bilge from overflowing the hull. Stan Glasgow talks about market penetration as though it's a done deal yet admits that the value-add for Blu-ray is pretty week when comparing the jump from VHS to DVD. ...but that's ok because they're 'focusing on televisions.' Good idea, Stan - because that's the only thing Sony can do right these days.
