No PS3 Love from Left 4 Dead

Valves hot new zombie shooter will not be coming to PS3.

Doug Lombardi from Valve said this:

"There is no PS3 version of Left 4 Dead currently in production."

The game will remain exclusive to 360 and pc.

I chuckled a bit reading about this on Edge - it seems Valve were so burned by the PS3 dev kit that they ran away never to return.

Now having said that - they may change their minds if someone can convince them to try the new Phyre dev kit out, but 'once burned' as they say...

Ohh well...left 4 dead looks good...but seriously when is valve gonna make a new counterstrike for..360.Orange box was awesome...so why cant valve be like nike and just do it!

With the online experience of Live I think Valve is being smart only bringing this to the 360 and PC, Sony needs to get their **** together asap concerning the online service.

Agreed. Sony needs to get their priorities in order. Hardware, Offline, then Online.

the head guy at valve has been an ardent detractor of developing for the pS3. I/we have discussed his prior comments from interviews ad nausium in previous posts last year. Even the port of the orange box to the PS3 was done with minimal care and with a diff team that did the OB for the 360. Its no supprize to me that there are no known ps3 plans from valve on this game.

Valve did not do the port for OB on PS3. That was all EA, mate.
It's EA that wanted to sell it therefore Valve told EA 'if you want a PS3 version, make it yourself.'

yep thats exactly what happened. recently i saw an interview with doug lombardi?? at valve and he was saying that after seeing the ps3's recent success valve will need to "rethink their development strategy" dunno what that means lol but figure it was worth posting.

It could be one of those games that seems great in theory but not to good in person. If it does what it should on "paper" then there should be a little pee coming out when we play. No Asparagus for me.
