Sony going to Leipzig

Normally Leipzig doesn't have TOO many console appearances as pc games seem to be the German system of choice. however sony's unveiled quite an impressive list of games to show at this years leipzig game conference from august 20th to 24th. the list includes:

- MotorStorm Pacific Rift
- LittleBigPlanet
- Resistance 2
- Free Realms
- The Agency
- DC Universe Online
- Infamous
- Home
- Killzone 2 (single player and multiplayer hands-on)
- Heavy Rain

Personally i'm most interested in seeing Heavy Rain, DC Universe Online, and the Agency just because i haven't seen too much about those. There was also a rumor that an INHOUSE presentation might be made revealing a new Twisted metal game but thats nothing but scuttlebutt at the moment.

I heard that you cant show many shooters or violent games in Germany cause there banned. So dont expect to see then any GOW2 footage or Resistance 2 perhaps.

Could be all a myth, but I've heard itmentioned before about Germany.

Also, I think its waaaaay to soon for another conference. E3 should be in the first week of May, and then at least August is a decent time for the next show. Instead E3 was in late July, and Lipzig, now in August. Too soon for me. What could possibly be unveiled over there that wasn't at E3.

Anyone?

completely agree with you boost. and your absolutely right on the very strict limitations of violent games in germany. if i'm correct the conferences are worse than you thought. e3 late july, comic con early august, lipzeig, pax, tgs all before november...its really dumb.

Is there anything really *new* on the list?
Sony really seems to be flogging 'old press' this year.

...and just to warn you guys, some previews have revealed that DC online is currently a real stinker at the moment. This doesn't mean that it will suck per se - but it has a long way to go.

i heard this too and am PRAYING its not true. i've wanted a super hero mmo for a long time and if it blows then i'm officially playing world of warcraft again 0_0

Well, you can, they just have to remove blood. In Germany, TF2 is available, but when people die, they explode, leaving behind silly artifacts like chattering teeth and gears.

well i guess they can still play the game so thast a win, but i'd be pretty frusterated if none of my games had blood. what about gears of war? no chainsaw? i know the new one has the sparks system but was the first one released ing ermany?
