Why are those graphics worse than the ps2?

That must be an alpha kits, but it's no excuse for poor graphics, the 360 graphics were much better on those apple G5s(360 alpha kits). Now some may argue, but take a look at the DOA 4 background, there's this out of focus look, I'm pretty sure that wasn't a pre-rendered CGI.
