Probably. I doubt the service will be as good as Xbox live though considering it'll be a non-profit service. I wouldn't get the Revolution for online gaming is all I'm saying.

Nintendo will keep things free, on their side of things. However, I beleive 3rd parties can charge what they want.

I beleive that game downloads will help the REV receive DEV suport. Nintendo can basically say.. "You can charge "X" amount for all of your old games, if you develope "Y" games a year for us" Or something along those lines.

"X" and "Y" are variables.

If it does end up being free, hopefully it won't suck like the PS2 Online apparently does.

In the press releases Nintendo have released, they have said the online service will be free, but as was mentioned before, I think you have to pay to download old games, and third parties could charge for their games.

I would not write off Nintendo Live service until it comes out.

"Iwata confirmed that consumers will not be required to pay any monthly fees to play first party titles - the only costs incurred will be the price of games and the user's own Internet connection. He said that Nintendo has worked hard to design a system which is secure and protected from the kind of abuse that can come from anonymity. A Nintendo-branded USB Wi-Fi access point will appear on the shelves along side the first Wi-Fi enabled game for use by gamers who don't have a wireless Internet connection already set up - which would suggest that third party wireless access points can also be used."

from: http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=60953

So there you go - first party titles, free Live service.
