Posts: 235 | I dont think many people will turn down a revolution at that price even if it was just to sit in the corner and collect dust while u play on ur 360.
However, i would have to list this under BS because if that was true it would be like somewhere near £75 in the UK and just crazy talk lol.

Posts: 260 | the rumor has to be false...they would likely go bankrupt at some point(it probably will be like 250-350 to develop)and every system is going to be rising in cost, they are probably going to release it for 200-250

Posts: 281 | I don't think this is possible. If the Revolution could sell for a 100 bucks why the gamecube also is a 100 bucks at this moment. If the revolution is launched they would sell there gamecube for like 50 omg...

Also i reckon nintendo will price there games at 30 pounds |

To go on-topic: Maybe they sell the console with out the freaky controller to make it possible to sell for 100 but i doubt it...

As for the controler, only time will tell. What you try and say as fact I know is just your simple opinion. Here is one for you. 3 Monkeys are in a tree. The 1st one jumps off crashes on the ground and dies, the 2nd monkey jumps and also dies. The 3rd monkey looks around and then jumps and dies too. Now why did the 3rd monkey jump ? Peer pressure. MS and Sony do not need to follow Nintendo to its death. | Follow Nintendo to it's death?
I don't think that Nintendo is going to be dying any time soon. They have come up with possibly the most innovative and revolutionary concept gaming has ever seen. The market is now changing, and things are never going to be the same. And, Phantom, I meant next-next gen, as in 2010, when every company would have a revolution-type controller.
Their controller gives you the pin-point precision only achieved before by a KB/M combo and allows developers to do completely new things that we've never seen before.
As for the monkeys in the tree thing, I'm not quite sure why Sony and MS would jump out after Nintendo, or why Nintendo would jump out in the first place, because MS and Sony believe they have the upper hand on the weaker Nintendo. But I can tell you this: By 2010 all three companies will have a controller similar to the Revolution's.
And lastly, yes, a game is only as good as it's weakest link. But as long as it looks 2-3x as good as the original xbox (which it almost definitely will) I'm fine. The Revolution may not be able to produce the stunning visuals that ther PS3 and 360 will be able to, but I believe the Revolution will have more appeal and may do quite well for itself in the end.
Yes, I'm only 15, but this is my opinion.

Posts: 341 | hey the controller may be different but I had seen an interview some where on the net when the controller first came out I think it was with someone from Nintendo I really do not remember but they were talking about the new controller. What I basically got from the interview was that Nintendo put the controller out there and now it was up to the game developers to find a use for it. The game developers are under enough pressure to make quality games and now nintendo is asking them to experiment with a new controller. It is third party support suicide that they are committing. 1st rule in anything is K.I.S.S., Keep It Simple Stupid not that I am calling you stupid. The controller with all the add-ons could end up costing the gamer more than the game console. Nintendo is losing money. As you lose money, you have less for R&D, which means you are putting out cheaper quality products which makes you lose more money and so on. People want to push tech as hard and fast as they can so that they can be different. Here is the top part of a gamespot.com article of about how Nintendo is losing yen over yen. Quote: |

When analysts (accurately) predicted Sony would see serious losses, many Nintendo loyalists felt some schadenfreude at their archrival's suffering. Today, though, it was the house of Mario that saw its financial foundations shaken by lackluster earnings numbers.
According to Reuters' Japanese service, Nintendo reported a 78.5 percent decline in operating profit for the quarter ending June 30, 2005. Its 13.72 billion yen ($123 million) in operating income was off 3.75 billion yen ($33.4 million) from the same period in 2004. While disappointing, the figures did slow the precipitous decline Nintendo reported in the January-March quarter, when its profit dropped 8.5 billion yen ($75.8 million). Overall, quarterly sales were off 14 percent, weighing in at 70.7 billion yen ($630.6 million). | http://www.gamespot.com/gamecube/adv...ml?sid=6129939
Every company owes to the ones that came before them. MS to Sony to Nintendo\Sega to Atari\Colleco Vision to Commador 64 to Pong and if you look at the paterner over the past 25+ years. Pong and Colleco Vision are no longer around and Colleco Vision had a unique controller that is no where to be found these days while Atari's was very simple. Atari is developing games now. Sega tried to be unique and experiment the dreamcast which failed and now they are developing game so I could see the time when Nintendo is dead as a console and they start to just develope games and continue with the handheld market. Just like within the next-next-next console we could see XBox in trouble. I personnally would not want to invest the money into something which has a higher chance of failure when they are other quality products out there. Not for $100 that is for sure. |
