I'm board. What do you think the PS3's "killer" online service will be like? I don't think they'll make one better than the buggy laggy PS2 online. What are your thoughts?

I have never seen or heard much about PS2 Online. Is it that bad?

Apparently they will have an online service similar to Xbox LIVE. However, I don't think it'll be implemented well. We'll just have to wait and see..

Online play is gonna be the BIGGEST thing for the next-gen consoles. If you don't get it right your console aint gonna be worth squat.
XBox was excellent with it's LIVE service, Halo 2 being the perfect example. Sony's efforts were laughable at best.
This is where MSoft will catch up with Sony.

i agree daniel. i played ps2 online madden 06 at a friends house and madden 05 was actually betetr to play online on my xbox.

For no lag and stable game servers, xbox live definitely worth paying for.

But it depends on the game. EA games (especially Burnout Takedown and Timesplitters Future Perfect) have abysmal servers, but that's mainly down to it being on EA servers.

sony online will suck as always.plus just because they say it will be like xbox live doesnt mean it will be as agood.sony will hype their service up like they do there games.they probablly come up with why their service is far superior than live.sony give me a break.MS has been building this service up for us for the past couple years

Look at it this way, here are just the main general components of each side.
-MS makes mainly computers, computers equals internet, they obviously are going to have good online capability with their products (Xbox 360).
-Sony makes TV's, making TV's they know alot about good picture (graphics), they will incorporate their graphical knowledge in their products (PS3)

A little Sony vs MS theory.. state your own theories as well..

same here, but u never know sony can come out of the closet and acutally have something good for online but they cant be M$ but maybe something close to it
