Plus most of the Analysts people things do not reflect what actually goes on and are mostly fan boys of Sony becuase that is the name most people will recognise and will take notice of the article. Plus as an example Anaylists were saying that come this time last year Ninty will have died and be losing the Handlehld wars, but that isn't happenign in fatc its quite the opposite.

Conclusion: take these things with a pinch of salt

This article shows why we should all say no to drugs or at least no to crack. I can just see it now. Ken Kutaragi is sitting in his office crying. When Wedbush Morgan walks in. Hey Ken you paged me ? There there dont cry. I have something that will make you forget your troubles.

2 minutes later, laughter is in the air. I dont know what to do Wedbush. The PS3 is coming out in 8 months and MS is going to get a jump on us. Pssst Ken how about if we put out a rumor that MS is buying Nintendo, No wait wait how about MS is buying JAPAN. That way, that way, wait what were we talking about. Hey dont worry, I will take care of MS for you Ken, so do wanna go online and play Halo2? You can be CrcKhdkEn and I will be CrcKhdWednEsdAY.

The easiest way to get someone to beleive what you are saying is to scare them into your idea. Webnush is just trying to scare people away from XBox360.

It kind of like a playoff series. Sony beat MS in game one like 10-6 but that score will not carry over to game two. Sure momentum is on the Sony side but in the end the winner will be decided when we see who has the most game developer and Sony is getting a real late start. The developers bring in the users.

Sony is not retarted to delay the launch till 07. It is still a lose-lose situation for them both ways.
1. launch in spring 06: No major holidays to sell the PS3. Xbox will still be ahead.
2. TBA 2007: The Xbox 360 will have a major advantage by then with games and online.

I would have to suggest that Sony launch the PS3 in limited numbers like maybe 1 or 2 and get started on the PS4 for Q4 2008

That would tear up their fanbase like spraying a hot mexican burrito out of your butthole. They've already stated several times that they think the ps3 is the best thing in the world and will last 10 years, and is "1000 times more powerful than PS2" (all which makes me query the quality of Japanese drugs sometimes).

I'm going to level with you. The **ONLY** people I currently know who have "plans" to get a PS3 don't know ANYTHING about either system. Most of them come up with some made up information with no sources. I remember one telling me he said the PS3 is coming out...

The list goes on...

They might not all be EXACTLY word for word, it's to the best of my memory. The point is the jist of what they're saying. I'd honestly love to know where they get their info from. To sum it up, this is the knowledge base of the average PS fan that I meet. I could list them forever but they really don't differ much from that. It almost makes me feel like I have to educate people before I can talk to them. Keeps me awake, I guess.

I feel your pain Diamond. I'm in school and everyone always tells me "PS3 is comming out on Halloween", "The PS3 can also play PC games", "The PS3 is going to get Halo

.", "PS3 will also have a demo of the PS4"

It is always a battle between my schoolmates, friends, computer teachers and even family (those disputes get ugly!). I feel like my life is a constant battle between PS people and me.

I've come across a few ignorant fanbois as well. Despite my attempts to educate them, it doesn't get very far. The dream world they live in is too convincing, and my logic escapes them.

Anyway, I think we've come to the conclusion, based upon our own understanding of the gaming world (as gamers), it would not benefit Sony to launch a console in `07 and lose 2 prior Holiday seasons to Msoft and one to Nintendo. I just do not think the droves of fanbois could wait that long while the MSoft fans and Nintendo fans bask in second generation goodness. Pure and simple, it just doesn't make sense.

The closest I come to understanding that mentality would be if prices to build the PS3 dropped significantly so that it was cheaper to afford. Still not very likely in my book. I'd pity the Sony loyalists if it did launch in `07, then laugh at them `cuz I'm not all about the love.

It will basically be like last gen, pretty even. No one system will dominate the other. At least not so fast, it will take a long long time for one of these companies to out-sell the other.

I do. I'm not gonna get the PS3. I'll use it for my 360. On topic: Sony might as well scratch PS3 and start on PS4 for Q4 of 2011.

Given their remaining credibility, that would appear to me as their most threatening move right now. (Note: when I say "most threatening" I mean that it would be just threatening enough to make me think "wow, they're not bankrupt yet?")

But for the PS3 - A 2007 launch would be political suicide. 2006 is their only hope.

Your right on that. The other post was just a joke. Unless if Sony's fanbase will still wait for PS3 and everyone buys 100 PS3 per month in each country, I think it will be a lose -lose situation for them with system sales in launching late. (PS2 launced earlier than Xbox and has more system sales that Xbox).

Sony can deny it all they want. They lived off the back of the PS1 for PS2. The PS1 was a good system (originally developed to be the CD add on for the SNES, hence probably why it was good). The built up a huge fan base from that machine. They advertised the Dreamcast out of contention with wild claims and statements of what could be. Then they launched a year or more before the other consoles. Most people bought a PS2 because of PS1 reputation. The people that were on the fence started asking their friends what system they had. More of them had the PS2 because of the early start and name recognition. I'll bet that if XBOX 180 had luanched within the same month as PS2, we'd be looking at a tie right now. I do own a PS2 (bought from a garage sale) I will not buy a PS3. I may however buy a Revolution to go with my 360 if they have some great games.

Yup, that's how it goes. What's funny is everywhere I go now I run into new people having a conversation about the xbox. It's kinda neat. Gets your attention right away.
