Default Xbox 360 v PS2

This one is a bit of a laugh - a guy in Japan can either play the Xbox 360, or watch other people play a newly release PS2 game, Ryu Ga Gotoku. What did he choose...?

haha, yeah its pretty funny and more of an isolated incident I think. I am sure most Japanese, given the chance, would have checked out the Xbox 360 instead.

Also shows you what a battle MS faces over there.

The Xbox 360 looks like it has so much more majesty i mean look at it, it is on a larger fancier tv and it is all white. It just seems to command attention. As Matt said though it is probably an isolated incident.

Well actually they hate the Xbox 360 in Japan, there are many more of these incidents on the web;

I think it's hilarious that they almost bare a grudge to a machine which is american, but the sales were low in all areas accept Tokyo were there was a queue of over 100 people...

That's how much they don't care about the XBOX 360!

Default Idiots!

Heck what is goign to win the gamers to move over to Xbox 360 is the ONLINE stuff. Microsoft has much more things on the LIVE than Sony's online interactive. It is said but I think Microsoft will be using the ONLINE more to send downloads, upgrades.....etc.

Well, this is expected as only 40% of Xbox 360 sold over there. So naturally, the people are more inclined to watch something on their pre-existing console which caters to their needs (i.e., a game that seems interesting to them) than a next-gen with no strong launch titles in that genre.

I'm not surprised he chose to play the PS2 title. For one, the PS2 is a far higher selling console, which is more in-tune with the Japanese audience. Let's be quite honest here: There is virtually nothing besides perhaps Kameo and Ridge Racer 6 that could possibly cater for the Eastern market. That is why it is selling so badly over there, and that is why this man chose to ignore it.

lol. well maybe its because the games on the kiosks down there suck.The only game i wanna play is Condemned and thats because its not out for the pc! Its also probably because M$ is trying to take over the gaming market with the 360 and they japanese have had PS2 so long they will stand by it forever, until PS3

Gamasutra report 'The Xbox 360’s second week on the charts, though, has been even more disappointing than the first, with the console, showing 8,623 units sold, failing to outsell even the GameCube. This is a performance so far in Japan beneath even the low standards of the original Xbox’s launch - in large part thanks to the continued non-appearance of Dead or Alive 4 or any other prominent Japanese-developed titles.'
Enjoy.
