Posts: 230 | Sony stole xbox 360's guide button. The PlayStation logo underneath the Start and Select buttons on the ps3 controller is a button itself that will allow you to switch the PS3 on and off, connect the controller to the PS3 and access the user interface. Unfortunately, battery life has not been finalised, but he did confirm that the USB port will allow charging and wired gaming.
Will sony come up with anything by themselfs? |

Posts: 341 | Oh please, I could careless about sony ps3 but how are they copying anything. What is the most common way to connect an exterior media device today? A USB port. A wireless controller has to have an on button so why not put it under your logo. And wouldn't it be profitable to create something that will allow people to recharge their batteries for the controller? Players will either have to spend money on batteries or purchase rechargable batteries themselves so why not make some money on an accessory. On top of which if this stuff was not on the PS3 then people would be crying why does it not have this, why does it not have that. It just makes good business sense. It is not like XBox discovered the holy grail. Hey lets make a wireless controller no one else has made one. Now Nintendo has re-invented the wheel and we will see where that leads to.

Posts: 1,982 | I don't mind the recharging and the USB port, but the logo as a button is def fishy, but its not viable for any patent lawsuit. Still Sony does what it does best and what they do is copy their competition... |

Posts: 20 | First of all how do you people know that sony copied anything? Just because MS came out first doesn't mean that everything they have that sony now has, has been copied. Sony did not just start making the PS3 it has been in production for a long time. Look at what just happened to the makers of blackberry they got sued by a company for stealing their technology, and guess what the blackberry came out FIRST! The company that sued them still have not released a blackberry type product. So just because you come out first or mention your technology first does not mean everything similar that comes out afterwards is copied. |

exactly, almost everything thats sold well is copied. look at MS new camera, it uses the gesture technology...where was the gesture technology used first? in the eyetoy! does that mean MS is copying? sure it does, but it was so successful in the Eyetoy why not put it in the xbox camera?

Posts: 1,112 | OMG you guys are funny!
did you guys hear! Xbox 1 is using a DVD drive to play their games.. thats SOOO copying PS2, wont they come out with anything on their own!
EVERYONE copies each other on everything. Did you not notice that the new 360 controller coppied PS2 with the bumper buttons instead of the black and white buttons. PS2 had R1/2 on their controllers first, everyone liked that better, M$ copied it for their new controller. Why arent you guys complaining about that?

Posts: 306 | I used to be mad at sony for copying but everything that is bound to make money is going to be copied. When it was just the ps2, xbox, and the gamecube look at the ps2 and xbox they were alot alike and they both sold good and no one really complained about copying. You need to remember that even if they copy it does not garuntee (cant spell) good sales remember when sony came out with a hard drive for the ps2 it really didn't help the ps2 any.

Please say its some kind of weird prank....the ps3 is not in production yet. And you can tell this was added in response to the 360 guide button b/c their prototype controller (batarang) did no have this button.
You're rite though, I guess Sony has had many ideas, and everyone copies them. Like the gyroscope in the controller. They added it two weeks before E3, but they knew they were going to add it a long time ago.

Posts: 190 | haha thats like saying nobody should make wheels only because that would be copying some guy's "discovery"
PS2 was the first system that used a DVD drive and Microsoft did that too.
You don't see anybody saying they "copied" Sony

Posts: 284 | Sony's gonna burn in hell for not bringing anything innovative to the next generation! Nothing that they have brought THEY actually came up with!, lets see. Guid-sih button-360 motion sensing controller- Wii, Blu-Ray-- kinda from 360 except different brand,.
They have brought nothing new, just copied and pasted to their system! I hope someone from sony reads these borads and like crys himself to the point of destroying sony!

Posts: 96 | I do have to agree with some of these guys on Sony taking the copying a little far. It would have been different if they would have just copied one thing instead of both of the ideas from MS and Nintendo into their controller. I think both companies are getting shafted out of their next gen ideas. It's just like Crazy said....the prototype didn't even have these functions in mind and then around the time E3 2006 comes they release new info and new pics. Even the old press release stuff for the PS3 never mentioned it. As far as the DVD-ROM stuff is concerned....is this really the best arguement you guys could bring to the table?

Posts: 227 | I think Sony just goes with the flow....i think that they will see the negative reaction to the price points, and i bet they lower them.
Thats just how Sony is
