I found this why i was browsin..dont know if real or not but thought it could be interesting if true.. could belive the thing about cooling issues - if really powerful then xbox 360 and supposed to be quiter i wanna see how much over heating's gonna happen...

He's back. The connected PS3-party wet blanket who brought us covert info on the PlayStation 3 has dug up some dirt from a phantom insider who claims the PS3 may see even more downgraded specs. From lower clock speeds to an external power brick to who-knows-what-else, one thing we know for certain is that we sure as hell won't be getting what was promised at E3 2005. Not good news for the opposition, but then, I guess it isn't really news afterall, just rumor on a supposed "inside man" dishing out some juicy info. Could be Msoft for all we know.

Anyway, I wonder when these will be refuted or acknowledged...?

Sony usually keeps their mouth shut about things like this, so I doubt we'll hear anything official from them for a while.

such a complex processor to have good yields at such a speed...is DIFFICULT

i could see them possibly dropping the speed to produce better yields...because i just can't see them mass-producing such a complex piece of equipment by the millions at such a high ROS.

that would explain why the dev's haven't gotten the final kits...maybe they are working to re-tool them so they can accomodate for the drop in processing speed. that would also help with the write-read problem that the processor is gonna have...

...maybe this is a good thing...it could have a significant positive impact on a few of the large bottlenecks of the system.
