(Putnam-AP Nov. 17, 2006 7:15 AM)_ State police say one person was shot overnight in a confrontation at a line of people waiting outside a Wal-Mart in Putnam to buy the new Playstation 3 console.

State police Lieutenant J. Paul Vance says the incident occurred about three this morning. He says two armed individuals confronted a bunch of people who were in line and tried to rob them.

Vance says one of the people in line confronted the would-be robbers and was shot. The two suspects then fled the scene. The victim was taken the University of Massachusetts hospital with a gunshot wound. There is no word on the victim's condition.

Vance said the major crime squad is investigating and a search is on for the suspects.

I bet the would be robbers were sony thugs trying to boost ps3 sales! It’s probably part of sonys new ad campaign, I can hear it now… "ps3, worth getting shot for!"
