Although its only Ireland i still think this is a joke, If i remember one or two of the scandinavian countries have as high of vat as us. So this is fishy on sonys part.
Its mainly our goverments fault for being greedy fat ****ers, but sony also know ireland(even for its size) has a very large gaming and PS community, most likely due to the crap weather.

That sucks,but its not that bad ^^. Also I gotta say I was amazed at the ammount of Irish players I met on XBL.

In america they pay 600 dollars for the 60 gb but over here we pay the equivilant of $817.

You really have to wonder what in the hell has gone wrong over at Sony. Do they really believe anyone here in Ireland is going to pay €629 ($820) with zero games and only 1 wireless controller, when you can get an Xbox 360 with the fabulous GOW, or with an extra wireless controlled and, one of the finest racers around, PGR, for €400 (€515). As well as that, it's even more expensive in the U.K.

I can understand that they need to try and stop taking a hit on every unit they sell, but the fact that we in Europe are the only ones asked to pay more than what the unit actually costs to make right now sends the message that they see Europe as the leppers of the gaming world (no offence to any leppers out there).

The simple fact is that PS3 supply is already exceeding demand in the states and Japan. The Wii looks set to dominate the Japanese Market, and the 360 is doing well in both the States and Europe.

Sony are in big trouble if they don't start listening to what their consumer base wants, rather than telling them.
