Default WoW for mac issue

Ok, so I am late jumping on the WoW ban wagon, but i am just getting bored. I installed it onto my mac book pro and when i start the game, i watch the intro, i create my character, i choose my realm and as soon as the game starts, i have about 10 sec then my mac shuts off. I tried lowering the resolution from 1050 x 16 somthing to 800 x 600 in the WTF file, i bought me maybe 20 more seconds but still shuts off. I am running a radeon x1600 processing chip which i cant find any updates for.... any clue as to what the flip is up?

Hey flash, I'm sitting here wondering if this is a WoW issue or an issue with your laptop ? I know when i try play WoW on my laptop after a while it gets really really hot and the lappie shuts down due to the heat. While mine is not a mac the gpu sounds similar to what you are using. Is the laptop getting really hot, and does this happen with any other game you may or may not have currently installed ? It does seem strange to me that its happening so fast though, mine usually takes an hour or so to over heat.

Make sure all the air vents etc.. are clear from any dust as well, and maybe check out what temp it is running at when it shuts down. In WoW try turning all the video settings down so its putting less stress and hopefully reducing the heat a bit.

good luck !
