Revolution possible second place

Do you think that because Nintendo is being so silent that maybe there is more to the Revolution then we know about. Could it be possible that Nintendo could come back with their new system?

So far the Revolution only has a couple of minor cons. Lack of HD (minor because most of the targeted audience won't have HDTV's, and hey, looks aren't all that matters) and that it'll be the last console out of the gate (minor because it won't be a "Oh, I already have a gaming machine, I don't need that one" situation, since it's such a different experiance, and it'll be affordable as a second console)

So yes, I believe Ninty can take second, possibly even first, in this console race.

I would like to see Nintendo win, but I think they will be third - they just dont have the fan base of sony. It will take more than one gen of a better console to get past that I think

I'm certainly hoping Nintendo do alot better this time around than they have with the Cube. Nintendo still have alot of fight in them, but they need to change thier blinked view of how the gaming market has evolved. The signs are thier with the Revolution, fingers crossed they pull through this time

i think Nintendos major problem will be getting a lineup that will interest its fans not Mario, StarFox, and Pokemon.

Mario, the biggest gaming mascot of all time
Starfox, arguably the greatest sci-fi flight game of all time
Pokémon, one of the biggest, if not the biggest game franchise in the world.

If those three were in the line-up. The Revolution would sell faster than both the PS3 and the 360.

Mario, the biggest character world wide, all of us borned or experience mario in our early years; Mario is a very innovative character, even thought it may looks childish, its very challenging. Sony will go down, their system looks ugly and for that money you can get a x360 and a revo. Remember this "and i saw the end of a dinasty.."

The Revolution has a far better chance in the next generation, I believe it will be really close this time. To be perfectly honest, I want Sony to come third, but that's my opinion.

AMEN xpitbull. Mario is a largly known character and Nintendo does have a chance to beat Sony this time. Just because people call Nintendo "kiddy" dosen't mean they are. Do you call Metroid Prime kiddy? No. Mario isn't kiddy, Zelda isn't kiddy, and Fire Emblem isn't kiddy. Nintendo is coming back and if they play their cards right they can win.

Who doesn't like those franchises?

Mario games sell like hotcakes, Pokémon outsells everything upon release and Starfox is a cultural phenomenon.

You're kinda right about Nintendo perhaps needing some new franchises, or at least a refreshment of old IP's. They've promised us a new IP for launch, alongside some old faces making a return. My money is on Kid Icarus, Earthbound and Punchout.

As for Mario. I hate the spin-offs. They're usually bland as hell. But Mario platformers ooze with perfection. Thats why they've been going so long, and selling so many units. If it isn't broken, don't fix it.
