$74.99 for a PS3 game?

i was a strong supporter of the PS3 even willing to drop 600 hot ones for it. but if this is true i WILL NOT be buying a PS3. bestbuy canada is saying each PS3 game will be $74.99 PlayStation 3 game prices revealed from Best Buy - PS3 Fanboy if this is true then me might as well say bye to PS3 because it will not take off with games going for 80 bucks a pop.

75 is utterly ridiculous... but then again how could it really be 75? I mean theres tons of games being released on both the 360 and PS3, so its going to be $60 for one and $75 for the PS3 one? Thats software suicide. Either way its a mess and if its true then Sony will just be another company that sells TVs and PC Accessories

crazy stuff, a 360game is bad enough its €65-70 so your talkin nearly €100 for a new ps3 thats 100big ones for 1 game!. crazy. i think €70 is bad enough for a game like prey 10hrs gameplay tops.
and your not adding on money to play the game online on live or ps3 version of live..

You do realise that it's Canadian dollars, seeing as it's from a Canadian website? That means the games will (roughly) be $65 in the USA. Considering Blu-Ray is a more expensive format, and the PS3 is supposidly more expensive to develop for, that's not too bad.

Yeah but see, here's the problem. The very instant a rumor hits the internet about the PS3, Xbox fanboys everywhere must assume the absolute worst and believe in whatever source it came from 110%.

Hell I heard a rumor the other day that the PS3 can clone humans. Therefore, since its a rumor from an unreliable source, I believe it 110%.

The PS3 is the future of stem cell research.

But Sony already lost me when they decided to charge $600 and Ive had one since 1995 So Ive been with Sony for over 10 years but it was time to make the move, you cant expect people to pay that much especially when the 360 is so good.. I hope they realize that their going to kill their own Play Station brand by charging that much for the system.. I dont know how much the games are going to cost but I wouldnt be surprised if they cost $70+

Looks like it going be €80+ for the games and €900 for the console i was wrong with my 'nearly €100' for a game.
man if the ps3 was cheaper id get it, blu-ray sounds great.

looks like Wii games are going be €80 aswell! now that makes no sense..

There probably not but play.com is preodering them at that ,same as PS3 games. and thats one of the best online shops?

you guys keep saying "well thats how much we pay for 360 games here" you do know then you will still be paying more for PS3 games.

Even if it is just $5 more thats still 5 bucks, I know its supposed to cost more to develop games for Blu-Ray but they should know that more and more people will buy the 360 to save money when the games look just as good. I dont really care anymore what Sony is doing, what theyre not doing and whatever.

yea i do not think they will do this because they already lost people with the price points and if the games are $75 there just going to lose more people having poor sales

i know but they have to play it safe. by being one of the first to offer preorders theyre getting extra business - and the wii games could well be £30, but if they put them as £30 and then they ended up being £50 theyd make a big loss, so they play it safe and put the max
