Default who had the best draft

who do you think had the best draft this off season
don't just put your favorite team unless you can back it up

i think the steelers because of Rashard Mendenhall, Limas Sweed , and Dennis Dixon

not a lot of D was drafted but they don't need it that bad

Didn't care all that much this year since my team didn't have a pick until round 4. Although I follow the college game, by the time you get to round 4 there's too many players I never heard of.

Steelers failed to address what they need the most- offensive line. Mendenhall was a good pick, especially for their 2 back game they run. But Limas Sweed's draft stock was plummeting before the draft and I'm not too convinced he will be a great NFL receiver. Dennis Dixon may not even make the team, he had a bad knee injury and Charlie Batch will continue to be their backup. The team that I thought had the best is the Chiefs. They got multiple first year impact starters in Dorsey, Flowers, Morgan and Albert. I think the Bengals had a pretty good draft to. Rivers will fit in whatever scheme they run and has a good chance of being the defensive ROTY, Simpson has great hands and leaping ability and should turn out to be a great NFL receiver, Sims will be an impact D-lineman at a much needed position and Shirley could be a monster if he stays out of trouble (but what Bengal does?).

the steelers O line is still good even though they lost Allen Faneca, and Ben Roethlisberger was complaining about not having a tall receiver to throw to. They addressed that with Limas Sweed who is 6'4 and most of the experts think that he has the potential to be a Plexico Buress type of recever.
Dixon will probably be used as an all around player like Kordell Stewart was when he started out in the NFL. he also ran a 4.49 40 time

If Dixon can come back healthy and stay healthy I see him being used very effectively for trick plays that the Steelers have been known to run. The thing is, we really won't know how this draft turned out until a few years for now. And as for offensive line, Roethlisburger was sacked 47 times last year and that was with Faneca. I'm not saying they had a bad draft, just wasn't the best of the league. I'd say they were more midpack.

I'd second that. Dolphins also came away loaded with rookie talent - props to Parcells for instantly working magic on a sorely struggling franchise. Both teams were perfect examples of excellent draft strategy - address your teams NEEDS, don't always go for the "sexy" pick (ahem... Raiders!).

agreed. and you don't even mention Jamaal Charles who would have been an easy 1st round pick next year if he had come back for one more season. his decision to leave early was nearsighted in my opinion, but a couple years learning behind Larry Johnson should put him ahead of Cedric Benson (his Longhorn predecessor) in terms of potential.
