Posts: 5,238 | Well the Bourne movies do not live up to Robert Ludlum books. Also, Tom Clancy himself plays a role in the production of all games with his name so it's not like they ****ed it up behind his back. |

You read Tom Clancy books? I thought you were still on the "Little Golden Books" series. |

Posts: 2,950 | I think Elder was talking about novels like Splinter Cell, then shifted gears to the Bourne series without adequate clarification. I read the first few chapters of Splinter Cell and put it down. The cover features Tom Clancy's name prominently on the cover, and in small font "by Joe Blow" or whomever. |

Posts: 5,238 | All of Clancy's old **** is great. For the past decade or so he hasn't authored any great books but he has the talent. It's tough to develop a game using a complex Clancy plot and come out looking genuine. His books are far too deep for a single developer in include every aspect. The games are usually based off the gist and nothing more. I think this is a pretty pointless thread. Why do movies based off video games suck ass? Why was Ireland not conquered by the English? Why Does Barrack Obama sound like Greg Gumble on Sunday Night Football? These are the questions that need to be asked. |

Posts: 312 | Em...Ireland WAS conquered by the English. And stayed conquered for a long time. Then we ****ed them up with guerilla warfare, and they went home, and got to keep 6 counties because we didnt have the bullets to keep fighting, and they didnt have the guts. Plus, the majority of Northern voters are now in favour of a united Ireland, and the British goverment said at the time that the allegiance of the North would always be decided by its people, which means if they ever hold a referendum on it, there's a good chance that the North will be re-unified. Whoo
