How on earth?!?!

OK, before some of you friends grill me, I must come clean...

Rainbow Six Vegas is the FIRST shooter I have ever committed to... I have been playing video games for 25+ years and have never been heavily into either RPGs and specially Shooters, in '07 I made a commitment to change that and got GOW, HALO 3, Medal of Honor, and Rainbow 6... and this is the one I LOVE!

Now my issue... After rescuing the VP of the hotel in Vegas, I have been stuck on the next mission the chinese style hotel... after entry as soon as I get into those rooms I just get pummeled... ha, ha, ha... I spend 1 hour last night trying to advance that... no dice... how on EARTH can one make it through?... maybe my weapon selection was wrong... those of you that have advanced, any tips?... not a cheat or an easy way out, no... but suggestions in general to help me?

That will be greatly appreciated.

didn't he just say no cheats or easy ways out???

it's been a very long time since i played this mission, but as far as i can remember i chose an assault rifle (mtar i think) and some sniper rifle, obviously for short and long range kills (the long range ones really matter because you don't always notice them straight away but they do a ****load of damage without you noticing that it's actually them.

also use the rules that i tend to use for all shooters like these...if you get hit STAY behind safe cover until you're 100%, USE your AI team and if you get flashbanged or shot until your screen is black and can't see...make sure you use the radar to get on the good side of a desk/wall etc

i can't remember much else but i'm gonna play thru vegas again soon so if you're still stuck when i get back to that level i'll try and help you some more

Well, let me tell you... over the weekend I had time to play for real, the office, clients and husbandly duties leave little time... specially for so many games I've gotten.

I have now cleared Freemont street, the tunnels, the tower, well a few more and am now deep inside at Dante's hotel construction site... I think I am nearing the end. (Am I?)

I really understand and enjoy the game now... have becomed super stealthy and quite a marksman... don't use sniper rifles though... I'm using both the GK assault rifle with 6X sight and the N21 I am hooked!... ha, ha, ha.

Any other similar game you recommend?... my nephew told me "Splinter Cell".

Splinter cell is crap. Rainbow 6 vegas 2 comes out this march.

SC is crap? Have you ever played Chaos Theory? Have you even seen the trailers for Conviction? Yeah DA was a **** bomb but the majority of SC titles are great games.

Which are other good games?... Is Chaos Theory a franchise?, or a Rainbow Six title?... What I really don't like is those Doom/Halo type of games with guns that shoot nuclear mucus and stuff... ha, ha, ha.

Chaos Theory is a Splinter Cell game that was released on the OG Xbox.

yeah man chaos theory is a great splinter cell game, DA wasn't too bad but it didn't have **** on CT. i'm not giving up on conviction just yet but after CT the newer ones just kinda look crappy in comparison
