question about preordering problems

i was wondering if for some reason someone preoders the xbox 360 and when they get there they dont have any. is there something you can do about it, and whats the policy.

You would have to check it out from store to store - they will each have different policies.

But in general, if you dont get your console on time, you will be forced to wait for it. I'd say a refund would be out of the question.

Some stores allocate you a number for your pre-order, some don't. I'm number 11 at our local Game store, which hopefully means I'll be guaranteed one of the first batch. If Game gets 20 Premium Packs in, anybody who has a pre-order number greater than 20 will have to wait for the next shipment.

Not all places do this. You could be first to pre-order, but then be forced to wait for the next shipment because they never bothered to allocate numbers. Even worse, some stores will let you pre-order, but then they will sell their stock if people come to the store and beat you to your collection.

Places like Game are usually spot on though, I've always pre-ordered from them, and have always got the console on launch day.

If you Pre-Order early enough you should be guaranteed one from the first shipment but if you wail until two weeks before the system is released you'll probable have to wait awhile before you get your system.

That's the reason why I hardly pre-order. Gamestation had better give me my 360 on release day.

Actually i preordered my xbox 360 from EBgames and i called them today and asked, since i preordered am i guarnteed a copy and she told me if you pre-ordered after august 24 then you will get a copy in december, but the lady told me that when you preorder your guarnteed a copy.

Where i live if you pre order one, you are guaranteed a 360, but not neccesarily on launch day.

Im sure you do because the day that you receive it they call the people and say that it is in for you to pick up, so im pretty sure you will get it. But like i said if you preorder after the 24th of august then you will have to wait for the second batch to come in which would come in around xmas.

I preordered my 360 WAY back right after E3 when they first announced it. At the EBgames stores around here, they were limited to 30 preorders for the system at the time, and I only had to pay 20 bucks to pre-order. Since I did it so long ago i'd assume that i'm guaranteed a system on launch, being that I was number 22 to pre-order at my store almost 4 months ago. My question is, does anyone know if you are REQUIRED to purchase the bundles from EB? I have heard that you are, and that you arent. I'm going to go in and find out tommorrow, and if so, I may debate getting my money back and going else where, as I think it is ridiculous that they require the bundle purchase. There will be more than 20 games available for the 360 around launch time, and I dont want to waste my money on 4 of them that I dont want.

no you dont require to get a bundle that would be dumb as hell. but if for some reason you do have to you cant get your money back its just store credit.

yea, I went in today to confirm it, my preorder is for the system only and your not required to get the bundle unless you do it online.
