Typical, though not surprising really they don't like sharing.

I have the elite and I must admit HDMI output looks the best of all 3, VGA and Component.

Sorry boys, but the picture is better. I didn't want to beleive it either.

It's purely panel dependent, Boosty. Generally though, TVs are calibrated to work best with their HDMI connections (purely a marketing issue).

It's low, but 'tis the truth!

scot, have you ever had your TV calibrated by a professional? everything i read in audio/visual mags say it is a night and day difference. you can get stuff as a consumer to try and calibrate it, but i guess you need the pros with their master codes and all their light and color calibration equipment to get the most outta your tv. been thinking about calling a local place here, but it is suppose to be spendy...
just wondering.

I do it myself. I have a kit from Avia which I use to set it up. It does make a big difference with contrast, gray-scale and the colour temp.

You don't need a kit to get good calibrated results. Just look up calibration settings for your exact model TV on the web. I found perfect settings for my TV on avforums. And yes the difference is night and day.

They reviewed this product in this months OXM and they gave it a 9/10. The only complaint they had was the supplied cables were a bit too short.
