Does Xbox 360 have gigabit ethernet?

Hi,

I stumbled across a post from 2006 which indicates the Xbox 360 does not have gigabit ethernet. For some reason I thought it did (I believe the PS3 does). Can anyone confirm if this is still the case on recent SKU's (I have a 6 month old Elite)?

The reason I care is that I use the Xbox more as a media center than games machine and I find some media (high-def movies & HD-TV) streamed from my HTPC stutter from time-to-time. I was hoping a new gigabit router would solve this but was always assuming the Xbox could handle gigabt....

That's a bit disapointing. I assume that gigabit cannot be enabled via firmware updates. Does anyone know if the existing port could be replaced or converted to gigabit via some sort of adapter?

Kind of like the Madcatz HDMI converter?

Although I haven't taken apart my son's 360 to check, I'm sure that the ethernet port is soldered onto the 360 motherboard, just like on PC motherboards.
