This should be a hot topic in advance of Forza 2. I'm interested in the MS wheel, and the less expensive Logitech. Feedback anyone?

The Logitech wheel isn't Force Feedback...that should null it's worth straight away

I hear that the MS wheel is solid but I think it's over-priced. I mean, my PC wheel which is it's predecesor cost half as much 5 years ago

Scott, I hate to argue with the guru of all things electronic, but the Logitech wheel does have force feedback, and it costs 2/3 what the MS wheel costs. I also wouldn't consider a wheel that doesn't have it.

Wheels > Logitech® DriveFX™ Axial Feedback Wheel

It's not Force Feedback, it's basically just a tarted-up Rumble. Whilst it makes a half-decent attempt at it, I wouldn't substitute the saving in cost for the loss of performance

Yeah, unfortunately the logitech wheel isnt force feedback, as much as I wish scot was wrong. Even in your link friedkarma you will notice where it says "axial feedback technology". That is what they are calling there attempt at real force feedback. Logitech makes better wheels then MS and always has but ms wont allow others to use FFB at this time. The MS wheel leaves alot to be desired if you ask me and I was a bit disapointed as to how it works with the forza demo. I am a huge fan of FFB and wheels, no controller can compete with a great wheel and true FFB.

Talk about mixed reactions! Seems ppl love or hate the MS wheel. For $150 I want to be sure that I will love the wheel.

Are the paddles actually used for shifting? I've heard from numerous people that they couldn't find a way to shift with the paddles.

Are those the only 2 wheels you can use with the 360? Or can you use any PC compatible steering wheel? - Just curious.

Flurm, I tried a couple of USB wheels I had and they wouldn't work. Looks like MS, Logitech or Madcatz.

I think I might break down and buy the MS wheel. If I use a standard controller, I won't have a free hand to flip off Scotracer as he passes me.

Yes the paddles are used for shifting and that works great. The mounting system for the wheel kinda sucks, just look at the pics of it even, its not even flat where it mounts. It works ok but could be better.

The FFB portion of the wheel seems much weaker then my logitech FFB wheel. That being said all the games Ive played on it were out prior to the wheels release so maybe the FFB wasnt developed into the game well.

Forza is better but not much better. Im hoping in the full version you will have a feedback strength selection so you can beef up the feedback. Overall, its a good wheel but not a great wheel so far but only time will tell once some of these new games come out AKA Dirt, NASCAR and Please GTR find a way to get to the 360.

On the GameShark wheel, it has a shift knob, plus paddles. Has anyone tried this because a shift knob sounds fun.

Shift Knobs are fine as long as they are on the correct side of the wheel. Here in the UK we need the shift knob on the left but most wheels have it set to the right. So the fact that MS have thought to put the paddle shift on eliminates that problem as well as providing the next gen in gear shifting.

Default Misaligned wheel

Anybody have the problem with the racing wheel where it is misaligned? To make the car go straight I have to have the steering wheel turned about 30 degrees to the left. I just want to know because I will get a replacement if it is a bad one.

THanks.

I have never had that problem with my wheel. Either get a new one or just try to restart everything and reconnect, maybe it will be better. But the answer is NO, never had that problem yet.
